I don't understand. Armstrong is a guy I'd love to have, but it seems like Burke is obsessed with signing guys like this...Armstrong is great, but he's not a guy who will win you games. He is a guy who helps the guys who win you games. I don't get who is going to be their gamebreaker...Kessel?

Would have been a decent fit on the Canadiens' 3rd line, but the price was steep as expected.

Now, I can go back to hating the guy for his borderline hits...

Steep price, although you knew he was going to get a lot of money based on the fact that he can throw a couple of big hits...but 3m for a 30 point player is a bit much, I'm glad we didn't sign him for that much.

I seriously don't get the fascination with Armstrong. I don't like him as a player at all. I was surprised when so many people wanted him on the habs. There's so many other players I'd prefer to have on a team for 3 million than this guy. Thank god he signed with the Leafs. Gives me even more reason to hate him.

Armstrong is the kind of guy that will idealy play 3rd line minutes, put in 10-15 goals. He is probably at value at about 1.75-2.25M. 3M... Not so much.

3.25M taking a chance on Kostitsyn? I'd rather take that gamble in my top 6.

I'm happy because he can only likely disappoint on that crappy leafs team at that hefty contract.

Burke's going to need to do a lot more than signing Armstrong to be a competetive team. We'll see if his D is up to the challenge of being a contender this year, because I don't see them making the playoffs based on their offense.
