Do you guys ever look at it from a player POV and not yours?

What if Ellis didn't want to sign here since he wanted a shot at the #1 spot?
What if Biron didn't want to deal with the constant media? What if Gauthier didn't want Biron?

I assumed the SK trade would backfire. I also assume Price will stutter next year again. Here's to hoping the Halak trade doesn't backfire.

To everyone freaking out. Sometimes players actually don't want to sign in certain cities. Don't you think Biron wanted to stay in the greater New York area. Ellis will get more games in Tampa, more money in Tampa and less taxes there as well + the sunshine for 2 years as a close to back up goalie. I know where I would signed even if Montreal offered me 2 mill a year.

Wow, goalies are getting shafted this year with contracts. Any goalie that got greedy at the start of FA is not going to have a job.

Ellis said on TSN that him and the Habs couldn't come to an agreement on the numbers, and he was unsure about being in another Nashville-type situation (stuck behind an up-and-coming young goalie).

I'm going to give PG the benifit of the doubt, and assume that Ellis wanted 2M or more to play here given the role situation an d taxes.

But on the surface it looks bad
trade an asset for nothing
sign a lesser player for a marginal discount
