It's obvious that Lou has a plan. He knew Paul didn't want to come back and therefore he wasn't in on that.

I love the moves so far. I love getting players that actually want to play for us! And it's not like they're getting ridiculous money. They've signed for fair deals, which is why I'm loving the day so far.

Kovy! Re-sign please!

Really sad Anton is gone from the Sens. Best of luck with the A-Train, you are going to love him.

Well , just checked we have about 11million dollars of cap space to use, if we use the 10% rule, which would give use time to make a trade by the end of the year

We still haven't addressed our primary concern, which was offense from the blue-line. If, however, Lou can find a way to retain Kovalchuk by eliminating some of the dead weight, this will have been a very good day.

I will love seeing Volchenkov against the Flyers in a best of 7. I almost hope we draw them next year.

Absolutely love this signing. Exactly what the Devils needed, especially after the way the Devils D got out-muscled by Philly. Not a big fan of Tallinder but don't hate it, but now the Devils need to find a guy that can contribute somewhat offensively. I'm hoping for a trade for Burns, Kaberle, or Bieksa.

I love the move, but I don't know if I can take another playoff round against them Flyers.

Penguins? Send them this way.

Just got off the phone with Volchenkov. He's happy he's a Devil now, looks forward to playing in NJ. More soon on Puck Daddy.

We are happy to have you!

this is the way i look at it

lou knew we werent going anywhere with martin as our primary defenseman

greene is going to be better, we are bigger, more mobile and more physical at teh back end now and we addressed a need at center, getting a big natural center

we still need to get another defenseman, imo and re signing kovy would be cool too but we have to get rid of rolston and maybe salvador too

I like the signings of both Tallinder & Volchenkov. Obviously I would have liked to have seen Martin back but he would have been a $5 million cap hit whereas we get these 2 guys for just over $7 million. Basically if we keep Martin we don't get these guys who I think will really solidify our defense. With that being said I do think the Devils need a puck moving defenseman and hopefully Lou can get something done in that regards.

Well, we don't have any more offense from the blueline, but as long as Tallinder plays well, we have one more top-4 guy than we had yesterday.

Not sure on the years yet, but love the money and the signing. Volchenkov adds some much needed nastiness to our blue line that we haven't had in awhile. He is also fairly mobile so it's not like he is another White.

Whoa. I was not expecting this, but I'm happy about it. Good job by Lou to keep the salary fairly low. I just hope the NTC doesn't bite us.

Plus the one thing I like about Volchenkov is that he is only 28

I like Volchenkov! Everytime we played Ottawa I thought why can't we get a beast like him. I think a classic Devil..........Maybe Lou tried to reincarnate Kenny Daneyko.......

Very good signing. Av brings some balls to our blueline full of soft midgets.

The dollars per year is brilliant. Welcome aboard anton

IF he'll put a little bit of the fear of god in opponents, I'll take it. We've missed any kind of intimidating physicality on the back end.
