It says $1.15 million, not sure if that's per year or total.

Twitter says per season, but I haven't seen that cited by anyone of repute yet.

Edit: Okay, McKenzie is saying "aav" which I think means average annual value, so it's $1.15 million per year.

Who knows more about Burish than I do and can tell me why this does or does not suck?

This doesn't make any sense.

Burish = Segal.

Where is this money coming from? What's the point?

Adam Burish may be a slight upgrade on Krys Barch, but why are we signing guys like this when there are more pressing matters at hand?

He's basically a Brandon Segal. It remains to be seen if he'll have a wild 2 week goal scoring outburst like Segal did last year.

Wow you guys just got yourself one hell of a guy. Loves to lose fights... but you'll love his antics. Probably one of the funniest hockey players ever as well.

Great guy, lots of energy. And just wait til his press conferences... by the way when's the first DAL/PHI game this year? He has some explaining to do to Pronger!

Too bad Pronger isn't still in Anaheim. That might be fun.

I am curious though where Dallas got the money to sign him, and if they had it, why they didn't use it on the defense where it's needed the most.

so Burish basically joins the 4th line shuffle with Peterson, Segal, Sutherby, Barch, and possibly Wathier.

sounds ****ing great. Why are we stocking up on these guys?

Stars Twitter lists him as a center, as well. Who knows.

Anyone wanna remind me how to edit post titles so I can put the amount in?

In the stars main forum if you double click on it, it will pull up so you can edit it.

Every time I double click, it opens it up but then takes me to the thread page before I can edit. I shall try on my home computer tonight, since I'm on my work Mac right now and it's possessed by the Devil. That could be the source of my problems.

Ok, that's it. I give up. I'm officially not giving a **** anymore. If they wanna run this franchise into the ground, be my guest. I'll be back again when Nieuwendick has been fired and the inevitable rebuild begins...

Heh. Burish's signing drove you off the deep end? Now I could see it if it was a contract that was excessive (i.e. 6 years, $18 million), but it's nothing at all to get upset at.

So you're saying he is going to show Barch how it is done?

This whole ownership issue has all been a big hoax. There is clearly a new owner waiting in the wings and management is just joking with us about not having money.

Burish isn't much better than Barch and the gang and there's no way he should be getting more than $1M average, no where near that. The Stars don't need these players and with the finances the way they apparently are I just can't fathom why they're doing this.

In this salary cap system, you spend money on your top guys and you bring in cheap, hungry youth... not overpaid fourth line "character guys." A long offseason just got much longer again.

Great. He, Barch, Ott, and Segal will clearly be part of the leadership group going forward. Luckily we will be "tough to play against"....fml

Edit: You'd really think a former player of Nieuwendyk's stature wouldn't have such a hard-on for bottom six players. First the overpayment to keep Ott around, and now he compounds it by this last rash of signings.
