Maybe PG is not done!

ArponBasu #Habs GM Gauthier not expected to address media today, or tomorrow, or all weekend for that matter.

Found this on Twitter

Most teams put out a report when they are done so maybe there is more in store later!

They don't want to take any chances. Apparently the organization has received death threats from members of a certain hockey forum...

It's also possible Gauthier doesn't care.

Fact is that Gauthier is reluctant to address the medias and is very reserved. He doesn't read newspapers or browse the internet. True story.

He also might have a few tricks up his sleeve but I'd be surprised if anything major went down. Could be wrong.

The next move is Price. If he receives an offer sheet, we are screwed big time.

But we can't sign anyone until he gets a contract.

Edit: Gauthier is probably trying to make some trades though.

As an admin, I really shouldn't be laughing at this, but I have to admit that I did.

I am sure there are some bargains to be had in the next few days with players that nobody wants. I can't see them signing anyone big (ie more than 3m/year+).

No, Montréal is going to hold a small press conference. Gotta continue with what we know.

He's being mentioned out of Philly in talks with Tampa so he's available (via Kypreos). He's been linked with us before. Guys on other message boards were mentioning it prior to Kypreos dropping the news. I'm not 100% certain but it would make sense. We can't sign UFAs because of our salary cap but we have pieces to trade: Kostitsyn, Pacioretty, etc. I wouldn't take a risk on Gagne though with his concussion history and his $5.25m contract for only 1 more season.

Nothing's happening...Hab fans do this to themselves every year. Besides last year, our biggest free agent signing in the last several years is Mathieu Dandenault. LOL

Gauthier is waiting to finalize the Kovalchuk deal before addressing the media. Either that or as a safety measure he is addressing the media from Alaska, as a safety measure.

how much cap space do we still have?

He can't be done, there's still a spot to fill, here's our lineup so far:

Forwards:
Gomez
Gionta
Pouliot
Cammalleri
Plekanec
Kostytsin
Eller
Moen
Lapierre
Pyatt
Boyd
White
Darche

Defense:
Markov
Subban
Hamrlik
Spacek
O'Byrne
Gill
Gorges

Goalies:
Price
Auld

Total of 13 forwards, 7 on defense and 2 goalies.

There's still a spot for one more player!

edit: Unless they'll be happy with Maxwell

Calgary Flames have brought Tanguay and Jokinen back

And Iginla had a bad season last year

Is it possible that CGY is looking to trade Iggy?

Sutter should be fired for the moves he has done already, if he did that he would be banned from Alberta out right for life!

Last UFA season really got everyone used to using up tons of ink on Canada day.

Aside from mayybe one more elite D OR the elusive power forward, we are fine. If Pouliot becomes the player he's supposed to, we're fine and I'm sure over the course of the season, PG will figure out what to do with Hammer. On that subject, what's the deal with Mara (after surgery). Since he didn't play that much, I didn't even get a good read on him. I hope OB gets to play as much as possible.
