Carle isn't going anywhere...

...yet. But with the addition of Mezaros, who will likely replace Carle on the PP, you never know. If they do trade him, I hope it is to Colorado. Who do the Avs got that is desirable?

You are seriously in love with Carle. I really wonder whether any of your 317 posts are not about him

I suppose he could go to Denver for one of their D prospects...but I don't think they are an ideal location for him.

1) Mike Richards should be back on the point, IMO. As I liked him there, and it lets you get a bit more offensive firepower on the ice.

2) Meszaros theoretically can play the PP, too.

I agree, to me, Timonen has started to look predicatble back there. He rarely shoots as much as he used to.

That would be awesome. However, I don't think Colorado lets Quincey go for Carle.....

Have the Avs take Carle (3.4), Boucher (0.9) and Cote (0.5), and get Hedjuk (3.0) to waive his NTC, and that's a winger coming back with 1.8 in cap savings. Hedjuk would be the 12th forward signed, the Flyers would still have 6 defensemen with Bartulis, and an opening in goal with Leighton, as well as 2.4 in cap space.

Or make it McLeod (1.03) to be another depth winger in Philly and the Flyers come out with 4.4 in cap space for a goalie (or 2), a 7th defenseman, and Powe or Carcillo.

I don't see Colorado offering too many other players the Flyers would have interest in with all the young talent with the Avs.

Quincey ... I wish.

But he is better at keeping the puck in the zone. Richards is an adventure back there.

Well, they had Timonen out a lot with the 2nd unit and Coburn (who cannot even remotely QB the PP), so he was in more of a management role.

I would like to see the Briere-Timonen-Richards pairing across the top of the PP re-instituted as one unit, and then let Pronger-Carle (assuming he's here) work with the other unit however it's constructed.

richards up high on the pp has been really frustrating to me, bc he tries to force the cross ice pass all the damn time

he turns it over way to much and tries to do to much up top

i think having another shooter up top would be nice, which is where meszaros comes in, but we need to use our forwards more

with pronger on the point we are very predictable...everyone knows we have one option and thats a pronger one timer...i like briere and giroux running the overload, and doing some give and gos out of the corner, making guys move and creating space down low

Timonen and Richards are great on the Point together.

Timonen-Richards
Pronger-Carle/Meszaros

The guy who loves Matt Carle and is from Denver wants Carle traded to the Avalanche. Surprised?

How about Ryan Wilson as a start? Tweak it with picks/prospects to even out the deal. He's a cheap defender who would battle with Bartulis for the 6th spot. Pretty physical but below average skating. We'd be getting a lot more flexibility to add a top 9 player, or, you know, perhaps a solid goalie.

You get frustrated by one of the best PPs in the NHL? That makes sense.

Richards also has a good shot from the point. Not a one-timer, but good at walking in and ripping from the top of the circle.

How can someone love Carle? If hes paired with anyone other than an elite defenseman he'll go back to being a mediocre player.
