I honestly can't think of a comparable trade in Philadelphia history, or maybe any sports history? It would seriously break my heart and I never feel sympathy for athletes. I have been bred in a city where Simon Gagne is an integral part of our team and I hoped to see him retire as a Flyer with #12 retired
Well, with the economy likely heading for a double-dip recession, the cap isn't likely to go up two years in a row. It's more than likely to stagnate or even go down.
With Giroux and Carter needing deals - and who knows what'll be going on with Leino depending on his next campaign - and the sensitivity of the Flyers' brotherhood concerning concussions....it might not be such a bad move, depending on what they can get back of course. It would be too disruptive for team chemistry to move him during the season next year.
Perhaps to the Avs for a conditional 1st or 2nd depending on if he signs and defensive prospect (and Radnor's own) Colby Cohen?
I would never resign Carter he should be gone he won't help any line this coming year with his wild wristers and awful passes that's if he passes at all look at 2 years ago when he got all those goals where did the flyers get 1st round and out oh yeah he got a all star bid wooo hooo give me a 30G 40A guy other this selfish bum

Ironically, it would rival a trade of a man he replaced...Rod Brind'Amour. No one wanted to see Brind'Amour go and not many really wanted to root for Primeau considering his previous playoff record and the fact he was holding out with Carolina. When you listen to Steve Levy's clip of the 5OT winner, there are a lot of reasons why he calls Primeau "maligned." People knew the wrong guy was traded.

I suppose. For some reason I never thought of Brindy. Guess I'm too busy living in the sadness of this moment.
That is terrible ****ing news. This didn't have to happen. ****ing Holmgren.
I can't even express in words how ****ing pissed I will be if this happens. I wanted to watch him play in Philadelphia for the rest of his career. And it could've happened.
Agreed.

Agreed. I will be seriously pissed if this happens. The guy is a big part of this team and will probably sign a very reasonable contract to stay here after next year.

Not sure I could either, I did with the Eagles but it took me several years to finally give up on them....Cant wait to get back on the bandwagon this year.

Should have re-signed Coburn, kept Parent, signed Foster signed either Ellis or Turco and called it a day.
