Michalek, Martin, and Hamhuis. If I had to pick, it would probably be Michalek and Hamhuis. We completely stole Michalek. There's no doubt about that in my mind.

I couldn't be any happier with who we got today. Seriously, it really was like Christmas.

It would have been nice to get them a little cheaper, but it doesn't matter. We got two absolutely stud defensemen with respect to what they bring to the table. Martin is a fantastic all-around guy, and Michalek is a much better version of Scuderi.

Can't complain at all about what we got today. So I just went with what we did get

+ O'Donnell. Even if you all know Hamhuis was # 1 on my wish-list.

I really love Michalek at that price. He got a lower rate than the premiere group of Gonchar/Martin/Volchenkov/Hamhuis and will bring a ton to this team.

Michalek was the best right shot available AND the cheapest of the big 5; he makes my list for these two facts alone.

Given the 10 million constraint you imposed that leaves 6 million to spend. Martin is the best guy left and we're down to 1 million after adding him.

I didn't add O'Donnell because we need that cash for a winger...

I'd probably pick Michalek from that list.

How can you go wrong with Michalek and Martin though? That's literally a top-pairing shut-down tandem right there.
