Agreed. Just finishing a year sabatical after a RTW trip.
Still repeat: 27G for 2.5 is a good deal.
Yeah, for Lats it is. It might also be a good deal for Minny but we don't know that yet. We've all seen his lazy unproductive side... Hopefully Minny won't have to see that side of him, but if they do, that $2.5M won't look too nice anymore.
I think if he does, he won't be a consistent 30 goal guy. If you're gonna say he'll hit 35 goals next year, say it, cuz I don't think so. You can't call people out when their wrong but hide in the shadows when he scores in the 20s next year.
Scoring 35 in the nhl is not that easy. Scorers like Nash, St. Louis, Carter, Iginla, Kopitar, Malkin didn't even hit that mark last season.
Yeah I know Guillaume was on pace to hit that mark but it was the normal boost after being traded, just like Pouliot. I think Ti-Guy went on a scoring drought on his last 7 games or so. It could happen that he scores 35 but its very unlikely. The only guy that scored more than 35 goals in Minnesota is Gaborik.
2.5 million compared to what Pouliot is getting.. very fair contract.
If he was still with MTL and had gotten the same amount of points, I bet that 2.5 would turn into 3 or 3.5
I would wager that Latendresses performance will depend on whether great players like Havlat remain healthy that don't mind doing all the work feeding him the puck while he waits near the net scoring goals and taking all the glory.
