Anybody interested in the #4 overall?

Maclean is listening to offers to move down.....if you think your team would be interested, what do you think they would be willing to give up to get there?

The CBJs are interested in two primary areas this off season:

1. Affordable defensive help.
2. A solid backup goaltender.

Obviously we can use help in all areas - so feel free to package offensive talent/prospects or picks as well.

FYI, if we keep the pick - we take Barker if he's on the board.

Canucks could offer a rather feeble package of their first round pick, Sopel and maybe a second next year, but I can't see you being interested. You do pick up a solid defenseman who doesn't command a huge salary and a couple draft picks, but you could definitely get better offers, I bet.

This offer is from a Ranger fan:

Columbus Gets: #6 pick overall, 2nd round pick (Philidelpihia), and David Liffiton

NYR Gets: #4 pick overall, 3rd round pick, and 4th round pick (2005)

The Rangers don't have a 3rd round pick, and Columbus doesn't have a 2nd. Columbus gets a good defenseman in Liffiton, and the Rangers get (probably, hopefully) Olesz. Great trade for both teams.

This trade is very interesting and I think NYR will be the likely partner if we make a deal to move down. I think #4 for #6 and a 2nd is very likely.

Not sure if a 3rd and 4th is worth Liffiton. What about Bryce Lampman or Ivan Baranka in place of Liffiton?

I was going to say this as well. They'd likely have more interest in Bryan Allen though, but he won't be dealt.

Yes to Lampman, No to Baranka.

#4 overall, 3rd rounder and 4th rounder in '05 for #6 overall, Bryce Lampman and a 2nd rounder. Sounds fair to me.

Tallinder + Noronen + Mckee for 4th overall, or if needed, remove Mckee and put in our 1st?

To WSH: 4th overall

Habs could offer Garon and Hainsey for 4th pick.

or Hainsey, Hossa, and 18th pick.

however if Chicago takes Barker we are not interested in giving this much for #4.

That may be a serious overpay to move up 2 spots.

How about this.

the Tor 1st, Lundmark and 2 2nd rounders for the 4th overall

How 'bout Lampman, Liffiton, 2nd rounder, 5th rounder and #6 overall, for #4 overall 3rd rounder, and 3rd rounder in 2005?

I find it perfectly equal, "You gotta give up something to get something", right?

He's developed real nicely over the last 2 years and could see him being a solid defensive defenceman while also providing some protection.

Jamie hasn't really developed into the kind of player I had hoped he would become, points aside, his physical play is severly lacking and some of the mistakes he continously makes defensively are concerning.

I'd rather move a forward than a D-man while at the same time keeping the 6th Overall pick

I would do this one as well - couldn't find much info on Liffiton though. What kind of player is he?

That is assuming you are sold on Barker which I am not. I think 3 - 10 is a crapshoot and I like the idea of trading down and picking up a prospect and a 2nd rounder and taking my chances on a Ladd/Thelen/Tukonen at #6.

The Caps probably would be interested.

Not sure what it would take, though mainly Draft Picks would be what they'd want to give up.
