Oh, no! I would cry, but all out of tears since Ellis signed with Tampa.

Good chance to play top 6 minutes and to try and regain his game to gain a longer term contract next summer.

thats a very decent price for him.

He can be a very effective player, just not sure if the good place for him to sign would be in a bad hockey market where he can just disappear further.

Still a favorite of mine, but surprised he got so much.

4th team in two years... Pretty rough.

Great decision, Florida is a perfect fit for a young millionaire like him. Plenty of night-life and hot young sexy women in FL state. I guess he'll be able to pursue his drinking & party life-style in Miami right?

Seriously though, good pick-up by the Panthers. Higgins might very well be able to bounce back from the bad years he had. He'll have a chance to re-claim his status as a good and legitimate 20 goals / season NHLer playing on Florida's top two lines.

Putting Christopher ''Stone hands'' Higgins in same sentance with Jonathan Cheechoo is a shame !!

Cheechoo highest scoring season was 56 goals and alsmot 40 the season after... Higgins ?! His career year was 27 goals... This is not even in the category !!

Higgins will resume his party life habbit in Miami,

Enough said...

True, Higgins can skate and play without the puck, Cheechoo can't which is why he'll be lucky to get an NHL contract this summer.

Very nice to hear for Higgins to get a solid chance to redeem himself. I've always had a soft spot for him with the Habs, and was saddened upon hearing of his departure. Hopefully he can put to rest the "stone hands" label, and really prove to the NHL that he can be that top 6 player that can score for his team. Although, if he continues to decline the way he has, he can still be a good bottom 6, shutdown player for the Panthers.

And the price they have signed him at is very reasonable.

A reliable source tweeted that he had received many offers. Forget who it was though.

Edit: Found it, http://twitter.com/DarrenDreger/status/17528110696

Hopefully he can turn his **** around, he was a pretty good player for us and it's quite sickening to see the hate he gets around here for no reason.

Regardless of how much offensive production he puts up, he was always a sound defensive player and will have his place in the NHL in some role.
