Skates????

Need some help.
Going to get my kid some new skates.
He tried on the new reebok 8k($299) and also the easton s15($264 on clearance)
Both fit good but of course he wants the 8k's so his skates look like the ones Crosby wears. But I just want to make sure I get him the best skates for the money.
Thanks for any help.

they're both near top of the line skates, the pump on the rbk usually help with the fit but they both fit well so i think you'll have to go with the one he actually want.

8K is a mid level skate. The S15 was a top end skate.

However, the s15 was a piece of **** that fell apart.
Go with the 8Ks.

Yeah, Easton skates don't have a good reputation for holding up. If you're looking at closeouts check to see if you can find an older pair of 9ks in your kid's size.

I've used the reebok pump skate. Very comfortable.

Go with the Reebok.

How old is the kid? If he's still growing, get something mid-range or lower. Wait until the feet stop growing and he commits to the sport before splurging on something expensive. Otherwise you're just throwing your money away. 'Course, if he's a Crysby fan, you're probably doing that anyway .

S15s are a stiff boot, if your kid is heavy and depending on age then this may the boot for him.

I have the Graf G5's, they're good, not as stiff as the G7 for example either, which i prefer when I'm not very heavy.

I would spend the extra little bit of money and get the RBK 9Ks. I have gone through a few pairs, and they are excellent. They held up through serious abuse (7-9 ice times a week, for the entire year), and never really had any problems with them.

The 9Ks also look amazing, I'm sure your kid would love them! The 8K I cannot comment on, since I have never used them however.
