Stoa

Whats the cutoff for NHL games played? If Stoa is there Yip should probably be there as well (even though he's played more games).

Hishon

Surprised to see so few votes for Stoa as for now, he was second behind Elliott by a fair margin. Guess the Elliott fans are pulling for Hishon this time ?

Going with Hishon because - why not?

There is so much uncertainty about our prospect pool at the moment. There is a decent chance the best of the bunch isn't Shattenkirk, Elliot or Hishon but someone completely different.

Ehh I won't include him... He has 61 NHL GP and the limit is 65.. He also has 71 AHL games played too..

Can someone care to explain why Hishon is winning this?

Needs an exclamation mark!

I went with Stoa; want to see a good year out of Hishon first. Tempted to go with Gaunce but Stoa gets the edge.

If it's 2 or less votes that seperate Hishon/Stoa tomorrow after the poll closes I will make a supplementary thread as a playoff for the two lasting 24 hours.

I am not understanding how Hishon is winning. He's had one good season the OHL. Yes he has a lot of potential but its to be seen if he can hit it consistently. Stoa has proven a lot in his first AHL season and looks to be a solid top 6 winger once Duke retires.

Based on potential, Hishon may have the edge but Stoa has proven himself on a consistent basis.

How was last season not good?

Is posting 1.11 points per game considered "not good" these days. It's not his fault he got injured.. Duchene didn't even post 81 points in his career in the OHL.

If you haven't seen him play or you don't know what you're talking about don't say anything. (not referring to you-- everybody)

Agreed. Lots of people drinking the Hishon koolaid it seems. Quick turn around from one week ago

Oh no, I agree with you. I haven't seen him play thats why I haven't voted for him because going from what I've read I can't say for sure that he better than Player X (unless of course that player X is projected to be a grinder ala Mercier).

I have seen Stoa play. Judging by what I've seen vs. what I've read Stoa is better. I'd assume it'd go the same for everyone. Thats why I am shocked that Hishon is winning this. Even if the injuries aren't his fault he had a slow start (again going from what I've read). So he's only had one true season of dominance and one good season.

Unless someone's read differently I don't see how that beats Stoa.

It always come back to the same problem with these polls. Do you vote for who you think has more potential or for who is closer to make it to the NHL?

I voted for potential...Hishon.

These polls are about potential. Like PeterTheGreat made a example in the last or first poll:

Shattenkirk vs. Mercier

Obviously Shattenkirk is the better prospect even tho Mercier is more NHL ready (speaking in terms of the league they've played in). You could do Stoa vs. Holos for the same reason and etc.

RoR had better potential than Mercier and Holos as well and he made it to the NHL passing both AHL/SEL due to his potential.

So go by potential. But I don't know how you can measure potential by what you read online based on someone's opinion. I assume people have seen Stoa at least once or twice in his call ups to know what he can bring.

Thats why I am kinda scratching my head on this. As Starrlinx said less than 2 weeks ago people were scratching their heads and now Hishon is beating our best winger prospect? I can't see the logic in it.

Not saying not to vote for Hishon but the measurement of the best prospect from this poll seems somewhat unfair? Or Biased? Or Rigged? Not sure but its something I question.
