You can't go back to bed, when you never woke up.

If true, pretty much what was expected. They blew the bank last year.

I am dissapoint.

Not because we didn't do anything, but because there were lots of good moves we could have made.

At least I really hoped they kicked the tires for Martin, Hamhuis and Volchenkov. Each of them would be an upgrade to our top 4.

And, of course, Frolov and Kovalchuk.

Can't expect too much with so little cap space, but if you can improve, you gotta make the trades that allows you to do so.

"close to done nothing" would have been more exact.

Jesus that is disappointing.

So Auld and Eller are supposed to make this team take the next step?

The Fourth Period is reporting that Kostitsyn is available in trade and we are in on Volchenkov and Hamhuis. So we may not be.

Sign Price/Volchenkov and buy out Hamrlik. At the very least this makes us a much better team. Volchenkov >>>>>> Hammer.

Keep Spacek give him 1 year on his natural side I think he can play equivalent to Hammer or better if you do that.

Markov-Volchenkov /drool
Spacek-Subban (if Spacek plays well... /drool)
Gill-Gorges (We all know they're very capable D and can shut people down in key times)

That looks like the best D that we've had maybe in the last 10+ years.

Basically though, Gill-Gorges would have tons of energy for defensive roles while our team would be a powerhouse offensively, always icing defensively responsible D but 2/3 of the time ones who can contribute offensively. Injury = O'Byrne, 2nd injury = Weber/Carle. I'm happy with that.

I have to say that would be awesome.

It's the same every year (minus last year)
We do all our moves just before July 1/trade deadline and remain quiet on the actual day

Unless we moved salary, which means a trade or buyout, there was no chance of our landing a significant UFA.

Engels is a lot more credible than most of the other names that get used as sources around here.

People here just need to wake up to reality - the Habs don't have enough holes or cap space to make any major moves. That was last year.

I'm just going to live through other Organizations when it comes to actively making their teams better.

Habs are just way too conservative.
