Lots of tough guys here. Internet warriors that would have no problem fighting a 6' 8" beast like Boogaard.

Fighting on the ice is nothing to be real afraid of. A couple punches on the face is no big deal. You don't hear MMA fighters complaining about how scary their job is. Laraque may be 250 pounds but he's a huge ***** in the inside.

Again...saying how you really feel doesn't make you a *****. I've heard MMA fighters say that they don't like fighting too, they just like the competitive side of it and like winning.

I've had some fights in hockey with much bigger guys than me and a bunch of street fights which are way more dangerous than hockey fights. How could you know what kind of experience I have?

Laraque is a figure skater trapped in the body of a footballer.

He speaks his mind though and is honest, doesn't hide the fact that he would come back for money, gotta respect him for that. The part on how he'd get only 200k clear if he made 700k in the NHL was interesting too. Knowing I make more than NHL minimum salary is pretty sweet /hidden brag

While on ice fighting is NOTHING compared to fighting off the ice, it can still be kind of scary. I've been in many hockey fights and I'm always scared of falling down and hitting my head. That is terrifying for me. Getting hit in the face sucks but you're right, it isn't a huge deal.

Ask Todd Fedoruk, who Boogaard shattered his orbital bone if "a couple punches on the face is no big deal".

I agree with this, that part is really scary, but Laraque wasn't referring to that, he was clearly saying he was afraid of fighting and FELT BAD for scaring other fighters (that part was the best for me )

He's getting paid millions for being a poor hockey player and fighting a couple fights a year, he should just shut up and stop whining about how tough his job is, because it's really not.

who cares?

Why is anyone even interviewing this guy? His heyday was many years ago! Plus, he was a HUGE disappointment when he played for us. I could care less what he has to say

Overall I agree with you. Being in a street fight is much more dangerous than fighting someone in a hockey game.

Though all it takes is one shot to end someone's career. (Ask Kypreos) Considering how much money these guys make, I really don't blame him for being a little scared.

He says the TekSavvy commercial was made from bloopers... while the commercial was supposed to be serious.

Yeah, don't criticize Laraque's toughness if you wouldn't be able to back it up in a fight against him. And while we're at it don't criticize MAB's defensive skills if you wouldn't do better playing as a defenseman in the NHL. And don't criticize Price's goaltending if you couldn't do better than he does.
Hey, let's shut down the hockey discussion board while we're at it...

If you think fighting in hockey is not dangerous or not scary then please read this article.

http://www.tampabay.com/sports/hocke...ruk-to/1058489

There's a BIG difference between the guys you fought in your hockey games and the guys in the NHL. One hard punch by Boogaard or Orr and your face might be ****ed for life.

And don't play Rock Band because you could learn to play the REAL guitar. (I hate people who say this)

Different but similar all at the same time.
