Report: Gord Murphy to replace Kitchen

LitterBoxCats

Me Likey. RT @Aportzline: A good source tells me former #CBJ assistant Gord Murphy will replace Mike Kitchen on the Panthers coaching staff. 7 minutes ago via TweetDeck

Me too though since the Cats are seemingly trying to put the old band back together, how did they let Mellanby go back to the Blues as a coach?

Maybe they can hire Laus to be in charge of team "toughness".

I have Gord Murphy's stick on my wall, signed by everyone in the locker room. It was from one of the teams in the 90's, i'm guessing maybe 97 or 98.. i'm unsure when Gord left the team...

Nope, I wasn't a fan back then since I was like 6-7 years old. Guess I should be ashamed right about now.

Id love for Gord to be on the teams bench. Way to bring character and toughness off the ice Tallon.

Gord Murphy is a beast in NHL 94! That's the first time I heard about this guy. Would be awesome to have him in the coaching staff.

First the news of hiring Skrudland and now this? I'd be ecstatic if they hired Gordy with him being another oldie but goodie fan favorite. He has a few years of experience under his belt now from Columbus so hopefully it's a good fit, but if anything he can't be any worse than Kitchen.

I've been a fan for a good 6-7 years. I still consider myself a long time fan.

He coached with Hitchcock in CB, right? Hitchcock is a very defensive coach, so hopefully he can tighten down our troops back there.

Yea, but he was there with Hitchcock. I'm hoping he learned a thing or two.

Gordie had really underrated hockey sense. He's would be a great assistant coach. Well, let's just say it's another upgrade from hulton and kitch, bleh.

Would love to see Laus hired in some capacity. Maybe director of players growing a pair?? One of the bigger fan favorites, he could do something involving the fans.

Was NHL94 the game where, if you won a neutral zone face-off directly back to Svehla, he could shoot from near the red line and it always floated in over the goalies elbow?
