Boston/LA

Would any King fans consider:

To LA:
Marc Savard
Micheal Ryder
BOS 5th Round Pick

To Boston:
Jack Johnson
Justin Williams

I'm gonna say no. Don't want to give up JJ. It would probably Stoll+ for Savard

Boston already has a log jam at center and they really need a PMD after trading Wideman

Plus if LA gets Savard, Kovy it might make kovy want to come here more because it will be sure he will do well playing with his old center from ATL

Boston & L.A. don't make good trading partners.. L.A. is on the cusp of being a powerhouse team in the West, they don't need anything we're offering except maybe Savard. But they won't be looking to give us much for him (pass on Stoll) & Savvy isn't a salary dump. After L.A. acquires Kovalchuk, their team is pretty much set. Boston needs to find taker for Ryder, L.A. isnt the team

Johnson isn't getting moved, Kings are still on the hunt for another top4 d-man themselves so trading one would be a step backwards.

Well Hickey was picked 4th overall a few years back. He's a little on the small side, but he's a PMD and a very smart player. He was the captain of the Canadian junior team a few years back. He looks to be a top 4 and not sure if Dean would trade him right now, but I personally would do Williams + Hickey for Savard.

Going to have to pass:
- I like Savard's game a lot, but don't like the combination of age and contract.
- Never been a fan of Ryder's
- Plus after using JJ in so many proposal's last offseason we finally saw a lot last season and have no interest in dealing him.
- Don't like trading old talent for young talent

That would have to be a 1st round pick for the proposal to receive consideration.

Johnson isn't going anywhere. Kings will not be trading any of the roster defensemen.

The Kings will be moving prospects for players on an expiring contract. Think Gagne and Kaberle.

A top 5 pick in 2011 & a center for our 2nd line, eh?

It's very, very tempting......

That works value wise, but the Kings need defensemen so moving JJ isn't an option for us.

Why do the Kings care what Boston needs?

You have cap problems and obviously want to move a center. And Ryder? Why do we want Ryder? Just another player and salary you want to dump.

Martinez and a 2nd for Savard

The basic premise of the trade is Boston dumping salary and getting a prime young defenseman, you do not get a player the quality of JJ and dump a huge contract at the same time.

TO LA
Savard
TOR 1st 2011

TO BOS:
Hickey or Voynov
Moller or Loktionov (either to play wing) or Williams
LA 2nd in 2011

Boston receives 2 of our top top prospects (1 defenseman + 1 forward) - Hickey is a former #4 overall and is getting close to being ready...may even be there. Voynov is ready, not as much top end talent as Hickey. I think both Moller and Loktionov will both end up playing wing, lot of talent - of the 2, Moller is NHL ready. If we are going to help Boston get out of cap constraints we need to be rewarded with that TOR pick.

I stoped reading at Ryder and Johnson.

This deal is horrible.

The only Kings who is really available now is Stoll.
So build a new deal around Stoll and let's see

If there's a deal between Boston and LA, Stoll won't be involved.

This is getting more like it, because the only way Dean is giving up Hickey or Voynov is if that Toronto 1st in 2011 is coming our way. Take Loktionov out though and offer Lewis as an option instead.

I think usually trading partners try to accomodate each other, that's why.

How about we keep Savard?

Now, is there anyone within reason you might be interested in for Hickey? Prospect, PMD but has been injured probably more than he's been healthy.
