Ales Hemsky for a couple young talented Defenceman!
Sens offer you: Pick of D prospect (Cowen, Wiercioch, Rundblad), Kuba, Lee, Pick
I know you added Kuba for cap purposes, but this move would decimate our current defense. Kuba, Lee and Cowen could all conceivably start the year in Ottawa. I say wait until the trade deadline when Hemsky's cap impact would only be like 1mil so we don't have to move salary.
This is my offer:
Pick of D prospect (Wiercioch, Rundblad), Lee, 1st

What is the point of Value of threads? All posters do is try and fantasy lowball a good player, thinking that they might get him for real with their garbage.
Methot is potentially available; Russell is not. We don't have the puckmoving depth to spare him.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Actually you are incorrect and he is correct and I'm an oiler fan. You should do a little research before saying you know what you're talking about.
59, 71, 81, 64, 74, 72, 22 games played.
He's played less games over the last 5 years than Sami Salo....if thats not injury prone, I'm not sure what is.
That said, when Hemsky is healthy he's one of the most fun players in the league to watch. He's never really put up the numbers someone of his skill level should be however. He's got a 100 point season in him (if he can stay healthy)but I'm not sure he'll ever do that in Edmonton.
I think the Oilers should keep him unless its for a top line center. No team can run with only rookies in the top six, so lets hang onto him, try to sign him to an extension next off season, and hopefully go ahead with Hemsky as our permanent number one RW. Hall and Hemsky on the top line for years to come would be very, very exciting. And if you consider MPS and Eberle as the future 2nd line wingers of the Oilers, it could be very exciting for years to come. So lets not just sluff of Hemsky, he could be a very important piece of this team's future.

So he has a history of some minor injuries...18 for his right shoulder, over two seasons, and the big one last year. Good list, proves he has had some injuries, but only the one from last season was major. I would understand some teams reluctance to trade for a guy who missed over half a season and hasn't played a game yet since recovering...it would affect his value right now, which is yet another reason the Oil need to keep him.
I'd love Hemsky on our squad. What'll it take? Would something like this be of viable value?
1 of Kevin Shattenkirk/Stefan Elliot/Cameron Gaunce (probably our 3 best prospects); 1 of Kyle Cumiskey/John-Michael Liles; and a 4th?
or
1 of Joel Chouinard/Jonas Holos/Colby Cohen; Kyle Quincey; and 4th.
We don't really have any young d-men that are physical. Ryan Wilson probably isn't what you're looking for. But he's another option. Hannan and Foote clearly don't fit that bill. I think Quincey would be too much with one of our top D prospects (but could be bundled with a lesser D prospect).
You do when the player in question is a winger, has no 2-way game, is one of the least physical players in the entire NHL, and can't score 25 goals in a season. Plus, he's never actually been a point per game player.
Are you done playing "know-it-all" and ready for the truth?

Hemsky had no 2-way game and is one of the least physical guys in the NHL?
Please, have some semblance of an idea of what you're talking about next time. The only thing this post proves is that you've never seen Hemsky play in your life. Thanks for coming in with your expert opinion tough champ.
