Quit your crying. Best shot blocker in Sens history, worst breakout pass this side of Brendan Witt. Matt Carkner by default really...

Ruutu!

Maybe not the best shot blocker, but definitely the most fearless. He's constantly throwing his body in front of pucks on the PK.

It is, without a doubt, Matt Carkner.

Well this used to be one of the easiest. I picked Phillips, but I was tempted to take Ruutu or Kelly.

Kuba gets a lot of flak for no real reason. He is a solid #3 D, and he is not overpaid.

But his contract prevents us from getting a true #1 defenceman.

I'm surprised Fuhr's head didn't explode when the Gonchar signing was announced.

With Volchenkov always blocking shots, Phillips doesn't get as much recognition in that category imo.

I voted Phillips.

Gotta be Volch...

err I mean Sutton..

O wait...I say Fisher. He's amazing at shot blocking on the PK. Carkner and Kuba are really close too.

I assume its cause Kuba was injured a ton so most people forget about what he can bring. I voted Phillips, I think his shot blocking is pretty underrated, he does it quietly, and also eats up a lot of ice time to go along with shot blocking, so hes my #1 pick.

LOL!!! People actually voted for Fisher? He was only 5th in the league among forwards for blocked shots last season. And only 20th, 4th, and 4th in the league in the last 3 seasons before that!! The Kuba hate is ridiculous!!

Toss up between Phillips and Fisher IMO. Voted Fisher since he gets no respect on this board as evidenced by another laughable post by The OttoMan.

2010 - Volchenkov (172), Phillips (142), Carkner (125)
2009 - Smith (180) Volchenkov (148), Phillips (114)

i'll put my money on phillips. He doesnt go down for bad blocks often either, which volchenkov was known for doing.

as for the fisher lovers, the best shot blocking forward will never be as good as phillips. Its just the nature of the position.
