I remember the wonders of that line. Brown and Richie had such sick chemsitry for the like 3 games they were together. Its just 3 players who work hard, hustle a ton, are responsible at both ends of the ice, and keep the game simplified

I agree. Richie and Brown really had it rolling there and then Murray seperated them. Surprised?

I'd love to see those two (with Stoll by default) reunited.

Bruins fan here,

there is a lot of talk that Savard wants out of Boston, and the latest rumors are that he wants out period, and maybe not just to be closer to home.

so with that in mind i think you guys would be a perfect fit for him, you have the cap space and if you signed Kovalchuk it would be amazing for them to work together again.

just wanted to get your reaction to the idea of him on the Kings, and what you would give up?

by the way, im still open to resigning Modin, since as good as Simmonds and Parse would be on the 3rd line, it means we dont have a real shutdown 3rd line. I think id rather see Modin with Zeus so they can shut down the top lines of other teams, then move Parse down to line 4 so that Schenn has someone with offensive talent on his line

Totally down for Savard so long it only costs 1 roster player + 1 pick + 1 prospect, none of those being absolute top end of course.

man if we land savard yet dont shift Stoll, Stoll would probably move to 3rd line rw giving us the most expensive 3rd line in the leauge, sweet

Love Savard, but I highly highly doubt he comes out west. Maybe the siging of Kovalchuk would lure him?

We'd have to find someone to dump Stoll or Williams on to make room. Not an easy task.

Kovalchuk-Savard-Brown
Smyth-Kopitar-Williams
Richardson-Handzus-Simmonds
Parse-Schenn-Clifford
Westgarth

If Murray doesn't put Kovy and Kopi on the same line, I will pay JDM to commit mayhem on Kompon

Kovalchuk - Kopitar - Simmonds
Smyth - Stoll - Brown
Richardson - Handzus - Williams
Parse - Schenn - Clifford
Lewis / Westgarth

Lots of options this year. Even without Kovy things look OK.

Smyth - Kopitar - Williams
Richardson - Stoll - Brown
Moller - Handzus - Simmonds
Parse - Schenn - Clifford
Lewis / Westgarth

Savard is a better offensive player than Kopitar.

No he's not. Kopitar's career ppg is already better than Savard's and he hasn't even reached his prime yet.

Why? It's much easier to shut down one line than two. That's why adding a 2nd line center is much more important that adding a wing.

What did the one line team in Vancouver ever do? WCE - expressed their ***** right out of the playoffs.

Doesn't matter how sweet Savard's passes are, Brown will still shoot them wide.

Brown has been taking shooting lessons from Stoll.

Let Brownie take the puck to the net and shoot all he wants to, but if he has not imporved his passing... Oh god don't let him get started thinking he is an assist machine! LOL

Best to just follow Dusty right into the goalie and look for a rebound clean up the garbage! If he can keep his feet and drive the net he is at his best...
