Why is it so hard to believe? Let's put emotions aside for a second...

Every GM in the ****ing league knows where we are cap-wise, and what we're trying to do: sign Zherdev, and still have RFA's to sign with no room. Now what GM in his right mind is gong to bail out Homer, AND give him something of value as well, in return for a player everyone knows we need to shed because of salary??

It's a ****ing travesty and embarrassment to this organization, but those are the fact because we have a cement head for a GM.

I'm sad.

**** YOU HOMER!!!!

Chicago seemed to make out pretty well given their dire salary cap problems this offseason. A GM is not going to pass on the opportunity to improve their club just to screw over another team.

Any GM besides Steve Tambellini that would want him.

Atlanta is run by idiots. Brian Burke is an idiot.

And after I wrote my little speech, Eklund comes out with "hearing Gagne for Quick, and Gagne for Kaberle".

where is this waiver talk coming from as i am alittle behind? Even a GM as bad as Shooter couldnt be that dumb can he? This guy has pooped the bed so bad this offseason it is comical. Turned 2 simple task into a circus.

the best part is that should bobro or eriksson turn into a stud before his (quick's) contract is up, we could get a gagne-like return for him, prorated down a bit since he would have less time left on his contract

Bail out Homer??? If we have a player (Gagne or Carter or whoever) that will help out another team then they (LA or whoever) will make the deal! You are getting carried away, we are not talking about a player with a 10 mill salary that can't play! We're talking about players that have value and looking for fair return. Not sure what all the *****ing is about.

Well we're up against it and have to shed salary, Homer is not dealing from a position of strength.

Bang on. If Gagne has to go it might as well be in a value-for-value trade, not an insulting waiving, or a dump somewhere. Plus the return would actually address team needs for both sides (The Kings are the team I root for most after the Flyers).

Two things:

Quote:
Eklund

Gagne for Jon Quick is the current rumor. Also heard simon gagne for kaberle...staying on this.
and

Quote:
BroadStBull

The #Flyers today disagreed with a Quebec TV station that said Gagne did not agree to waive no-trade clause.
Don't know if this was already posted, but both are interesting.

Wait, what is that 2nd one trying to say? Cause didn't the video that RDS had have Simon Gagne saying that he hasn't waived it yet?

If the trade is indeed Gagne for Quick it'd be a terrific trade for the Flyers. Quick signed a 3 year extension for 1.8 million per season at the start of the 2009-2010 season (extension takes affect 2010-2011). So that deal would take the Flyers up to the point where they believe one or two of their goalie prospects are ready for NHL action, plus it'd give the Flyers 3.2 million in additional cap room for this season - possibly enough to sign Zherdev.

Yeah. That's why I said it was interesting. Haha. I guess maybe Gagne is trying to keep it hush hush or the Flyers are lying or something, but someone has their stories wrong.

I'd be pumped up if we traded Gagne and got Quick or Bernier in return

Hm, I don't agree with that. Quick has a very complete game in my opinion.
