Get a 7th round pick while you can I guess, maybe if you a do a deal with the leafs since they could use a forward.

Thoughts?
He's literally saying that some "some NHL execs think" it could happen. So as reliable as he is, it's complete speculation.

I don't understand the question?

This a perfectly legitamite post, Just passing along the news. Nothing is confirmed, just good speculation. If that is the case and Philly can't move Gagne and will place him on waivers, might as well get something.

Hahah is right, the Leafs would never do that deal, and bail you guys out, as well as give you a top 10 Dman.

Get a 7th round pick for Gagne while you can, DG is saying that Gagne is going to placed on waivers.

I'll wait until I here something from Bob McKenzie.

Or, as "those in the know" call him: EI.

No, a legitimate topic would be

"Darren Dreger heard from some NHL execs that they think he could be waived"

not completely taking it out of context to

That is why I said "Likely", not that it will.

Sorry if it was poorly worded.

No harm done. Your original topic did have the word likely in it

I meant in the heading, said Likely, so as not to mislead anybody.

I don't believe that Kings will be trading Quick until both he and Bernier play a full season together. Of course it could happen, and I'd be glad if it did, but don't get your hopes up.

One thing would make Gagne being waived totally worth it:

The entire Montreal fanbase having a psychological meltdown when the Habs don't claim him.

I would bet that yes, if the Flyers were to HAVE to waive either Gagne or Hartnell, it would be Gagne. And Gagne is my favorite player.

1) 1 year left vs what is it, 3 years left.
2) Gagne also has a larger cap hit.
3) If the Flyers truly were forced to waive one of them, it would clearly be due to serious cap concerns (which we are kind of on the verge of). Therefore, the objective in waiving one of them would be so that they were claimed by another team. I'd argue Gagne is far more likely to be claimed than Hartnell, therefore far more likely to accomplish their objective of losing a contract via waivers.

So yea, those are the reasons why Gagne would be waived before Hartnell.

Disclaimer: I love Gagne, and think it is preposterous that he would be waived.

If Hartnell played like he did in the last 3 Rounds next season, he's arguably a better value for his pay and is less injury prone.

And Hartnell was also going for a divorce he was having a rough time with. It was obvious; you don't just turn off after your best season and then magically turn on in the playoffs.
