Dave Bolland to Oilers

He's a 3rd liner by default there. He'd normally be a 2nd liner on most teams.

What would it take?

A lot because the Chicago roster has already been getting torn apart.

They'll keep Bolland.

I don't think the Oilers would have the tools to get him, or at least they wouldn't be willing to give up the tools to get him. I think a package centred around Cogliano would be what the Oilers want, but the people on this board seem to think Cogs is useless.

A-what-now? Bolland will be the second-line center next season for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Considering the Hawks have little depth in the middle, a lot would be needed to pry Bolland from the team. And I think Sharp will stay at center and Bolland will pivot the third line.

No, he's not. Sharp will center the 2nd line.

I kinda think you'd have to over-pay to get any more of the Hawks players.

Something the Oilers don't have - a bonafide #1 defenseman prospect ready to step into the NHL.

Jeff Petry is a bluechip prospect pretty close to NHL ready.

I don't think that Petry qualifies as a bonafide #1 prospective D-man.

If he's a bluechip prospect, i think we need a new term for someone like Pietrangelo. He's a close to NHL ready prospect but needs at least 1 season in the AHL before he's ready to be in the NHL ready on most teams.

Would the best Dman in the NCAA qualify as a blue chipper?

I'm not going to hate on Petry, but the Hawks already have defensemen at that caliber and development stage waiting in the wings in Olsen, Lalonde, Vishnevskiy, and Leddy (Olsen possibly a step or two better). What they need is someone definitely ready for that #4 or #5 spot with the potential to be even better.

Btw love the picture of Madden, without a doubt one of my favorite players of all time.

I do, and i wouldnt classify Petry as a blue chipper either, especially considering he's going on 23 and is far from a guarantee to make the roster this fall.

All this Petry talk is very OT though.

I don't think your going to get a rookie dman who will step in and play 2nd pairing minutes who also has the potential to be 1st pairing guy for Dave Bolland.....Just saying

Didn't Duncan Keith go through the same process?
