213th overall: C, Brandon Sutter
238th overall: LW, Andrew Ladd
247th overall: RW, Troy Brouwer
282nd overall: D, Cody Franson
Good Features:

#1 Defenseman, and #1 Goalie are both there. There are arguably 2 No.1 defensemen. 3rd Line is very gritty, good defensively, and not bad offensively. Every defenseman in the top-4 brings a good 2-way game. Harding is a good backup who can play around 30 games to take the load off of Ward come playoff time.

Bad Features:

1st Line doesn't have a sniper, all 3 are playmakers. 2nd Line isn't really much above an average 2nd Line. Stastny isn't considered a No.1 Center by all, there were many other picks that could have been taken as the No.1 Center over him. Stastny also has had some questionable playoff performances.

Total 59.28 mil

Good Features: Ovechkin and Stewart bring grit and hitting. You have a No.1 defenseman in Pitkanen, and a good shut-down type of guy in Regehr. Brodeur is a great goalie, Turco can play around 30 games to take the load off of him.

Bad Features: The 2nd Line is probably below average as a 2nd Line, not even great as a 3rd Line. Spezza isn't a No.1 center if he plays how he did last year. Schenn-Bieksa is actually not great defensively. 3rd pair has 2 defensive liabilities. Stewart isn't yet an established 1st Liner. Regehr as captain? Not sure how Ovi would like that. There are still questions about Ovechkin being able to perform in the playoffs.

Sami Salo - Douglas Murray
Kurtis Foster

Steve Mason
Onrej Pavelec

PP1: Frolov-Koivu-Gaborik, Salo-Foster
PP2: Parise-Briere-Mueller, Ehrhoff-Letang
Good Features: Good, gritty 4th Line. 2nd Pair is borderline as a 1st Pair. Briere is an amazing playoff performer, as are Drury and Letang. Mason is a good young goalie. Gaborik is very speedy.

Bad Features: No True No.1 Center, No True No.1 Defenseman, Parise isn't a great playoff performer, neither are Murray or Mason. None of the defensemen are even legitamate No.2 defensemen in my book. With Briere, Gaborik, Salo, and Volchenkov, there's a chance that your team is playing with a lot of injuries. Koivu as Captain? Not sure how the room would like that.

Good Features: Pronger is a dominant playoff performer, as is Kiprusoff. Can't argue with you having a legit No.1 Goalie, or Defenseman. Good 1-2-3 punch down the middle. Good 2-way players in Alfredsson and Doan.

Bad Features: I'm still not convinced with Staal as a No.1 Center. Not sure that O'Donnel and Cumiskey are even that great on the bottom pairing. Aside from Arnott, the bottom-6 is below average.

He is the longest serviced captain of the Habs, so why not? Why wouldn't the room like it?

I appreciate the insight, but I would have to disagree with my bottom-6 being below average. Upshall scored 18 goals and 32 points in only 49 games last year, and him and Arnott provide some offensive depth to my club. Recchi is a veteran leader who is a playoff warrior (6 goals, 10 points in 13 games in last season's playoffs). All three are very gritty, providing offensive and defensive depth. Scott Nicholls is amongst NHL's leaders in hits, Rob Niedermayer is still plays like he did back in Anaheim, as a great 2 way player, and Lapperriere is a pest who can drop the gloves, hit, as well as playing solid 3-zone hockey.

O'Donnell has a Cup ring, and was a bottom 2 defenseman on a Ducks team that looks very similar to this Caps squad. Cumiskey is a very good puck-mover, who adds to my philosophy that there should be atleast 1 puck-mover on each pairing (transitional game is an apparent strength of this squad).

As for Eric Staal, he is a top 10 centre in the NHL, he has a cup ring, and has been a PPG performer not only in the regular season, but in the playoffs as well. Since the lockout, Staal has 397 points in 398 regular season games (13th highest in the NHL, 7th highest amongst centres), as well as 43 points in 43 playoff games. So he's definately a true franchise #1 centre.

However, really like that you took your time to write an opinion!!

Not a problem, had nothing better to do at the time!

As for Staal, he's a PPG player exactly. Not under, not over. That is great, but I don't think that he's proven that he's a legitimate No.1 Center.

As for the bottom-6, it's average, don't get me wrong, but in a 20-team league it should be a little above average.

Good Features: No.1 Center, No.1 Goalie, and No.1 Defenseman are all there. Sedin Twins are a great offensive tandem. Macdonald and Brunette on the third line is a good thing.

Bad Features: Clowe on the 1st Line, Bogosian on the 1st Pair, and Moen on the 3rd line are all really bad things. Every defenseman on your D-Corps besides Bogosian are bad defensively. Your Forwards are also awful defensively.

Good Features: Jonas Hiller is a good Clutch goaltender, and Zetterberg is also a clutch forward. The No.1 Center, Goalie, and Defenseman are all there.

Bad Features: Williams and Bertuzzi are definitely not 1st Liners, I'm not even sure if Bertuzzi is a 2nd Liner. Nicklas Grossman in the top-4? Zach Boychuk in the top-9? He didn't even score PPG in the AHL, I truly doubt that he's even ready to play in the NHL. Aside from Seabrook, your defense is very bad defensively. Afinogenov is an awful playoff performer also.

Good Features: You have a True No.1 Defenseman in Chara, and 2 True No.1 Centers in Crosby and Stamkos. You have the best 1-2 punch of any team.

Bad Features: Both of your goalies are having issues now. Giggy has gone down to not being a legit No.1 Goalie, Khabibulin is awful. Your wingers are awful, Okposo on the 1st Line? Wilson on the 2nd? Beauchemin isn't a top-pair defenseman, and neither are any of your defensemen not named Chara. Chara is an awful playoff performer. Nazem Kadri on the 3rd Line? He's not even NHL caliber yet.

You don't know what you're talking about....
1. MOEN is a 3rd liner.
2. Moen, Brown, Sjostrom, Konopka, Vermette are all very solid defensively, dunno where you come up with this stuff.

Moen is a 4th Liner in my book.

You don't have any of those guys aside from Moen...

I believe he was stating that in defense of your criticism of Ottawa. And while I like hearing your opinions and appreciate the fact you are doing this for every team, some of your comments have me confused. You question players legitimacy on certain lines (IE; Clowe being first line on Ottawa) but that's not a fair thing to judge. It's the line combination the GM thinks is best. I have Marian Hossa on the second line. Not because he's a second line player. You have to look at teams as a whole rather than focus on how the line combinations are.

JPavs it's nice that you have decided to rate everyone elses teams so poorly and innacuratley but you are not a judge. Leave it to the judges. Thanks.

No longer have deiting priv so I have to do a second post: rant:

Coach J quinnville

Captain Mike richards
Alternate J Staal
Alternate M Komisarek
Alternate (injured alternate) Brown

D. Brown Richards Kessel

Armstrong J. Staal Kunitz

Kennedy Bolland Cooke

Goc Kelly Orr

Komisarek Kronwall

Giordano Carle

White Gill

Quick

Conklin

Extras J ward, A Aucouin

Cap Hit just under 50 mil

Pound for Pound the hardest team to play against in the leauge. Top six looks REALLY good and bottom six looks good. There isint a star on my defence however my top four have proven they can all play over 20 min a game. White and Gill as my 5th and 6th is prob the best in the leauge.

The only weakness is in net however quick will surprise some folks this year.

I expect this team to make the playoffs and contend for the stanley cup. We might not win he cup however, whoever plays us can expect some of their guys to be missing games afterwards.
