Only ones that could be higher are Sox & Cubs, as far as cursed teams, but cities, we might just hit #1.... at least we'll be #1 at something!

The last time I was in Philadelphia, we heard about the Penn curse (as a result of the change in the city's bylaws that allowed buildings to stand higher than William Penn at the top of city hall). Apparently no professional sports team in Philadelphia has won since the law was repealed....... any truth to this?

It is true for the 4 major sports teams, but we have won many secondary championships, ie:
Philadelphia Stars (USFL)
Philadelphia Wings (MILL)
Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL)
Villanova Wildcats (NCAA)

and probably a few others I can't recall right now.

I would imagine Chicago, Boston, Buffalo, Cleveland and Philly will make up the final five. Go Smarty Jones, go!

I was in Chicago two summers ago and this gentleman, who had to be in his 80s, was telling me a tale of why the Cubs are cursed. Involved a billy goat. Then the Cubs went through their fiasco in last year's playoffs and the media focused on the goat tale. In Boston, there is the Babe Ruth "Curseof the Bambino" for selling him to the Yankees in 1920 for $100K (World Series titles since the trade: Yanks 26 Sox 0). Anything is possible.
