MacArthur available. would you take a chance

the Thrashers walked away from his arbitration award, $2.4 mill. He's 24, big, gritty and if surrounded with the right people, can score.... I think he'd look good next to Eller!!

he's not big, he's 5'11.....but he plays a big and agressive game so I get what you're saying

I really like the game he plays and he would look good on the third line so I would take him for maximum 2 millions per.....but I really think PG will leave a spot open for young players of the organisation

I think he's worth a look...44 goals in 208 NHL games and only 25...it would have to be sub 2 mil...I was thinking 3.5 for 2 years. He could push guys like AK, Pouliot, Pacioretty for top 6 ice time the next 2 years.

I like him, plays a good game. Very versatile. Would definitely take him if we have cap space for it.

I think we'll be better off giving 4 mil for 2 years. No way he accepts 3.5 over 2. Somewhere inbetween would be nice.

He's not big, he plays big. He'll want that kind of money and Montréal can't give it to him.

Well for the amount of people that complain about the lack of forwards going to the front of the net, this guy is your guy, he lives in front of the net.

Depending on what MacArthur wants, I wouldn't.

I like him. Young, fast, always goes to the net. Over $2M I'm not crazy about, though, for a 3rd line scorer. More importantly, our real need is for RH shots up front. We need to get AK46 over to the left side, but to do so we need more RH shooters on the team.

He's a pretty decent player!

But no f***ing way his value is 2,4M$. For that price I would try to take a more usefull UFA.

He's a good player, and that kind of guy is rarely free to grab.

That said, I bet some team pays him closer to his arbitration award on the open market and that team won't be Montreal. If we can get him for 1 to 2 million cap hit, I'd love to see him on the third line.

I still think this team needs one more proper NHL forward. Whine all you want about making room for prospects, but the team has made a lot of room. Maybe too much. As it stands now we should have room for Pyatt, Eller, White, Darche (not a prospect, but in those slots) and Pacioretty on the big club. Sub any of those slots for possibly Trotter, Maxwell or Desharnais, as you like. That's too many inexperienced forwards.

McArthur, aside from having a kick ass name (seriously, if his nickname isn't The General, I'll be annoyed), would give us another option and still leave plenty of room for the kids.

Plus, he's a kid himself.

Bottom six:

McArthur - Eller - Lapierre
Moen - Pyatt - White
Ex. Darche

Not half bad.

Not a bad cap hit and 16 goals, 19 assists would look decent in the Habs bottom 6. However, there's a certain big tough guy, that loves to hit and plays some decent hockey too. He also happens to be going to arbitration soon as well, and if the Thrashers don't sign him, then it might be interesting to take a look at him if his cap hit is decent.

Ben Eager.

Eager is a great bottom 6 guy the guy hits everything but if Atlanta dont agree to salary i can see him going back to Chicago taking a pay cut

I'm really not sure how they awarded him 2.4M... he's definitely not worth that!
