Considering his potential and massive amounts of skill, I'll go with Colborne....and I believe most will.

This should be a fun one because some people might choose the more NHL ready player who has preformed at a PPG rate in the QMJHL for a 3 year span in Caron. But others, like myself may take the guy with a higher ceiling and by all accounts more skill.

I'm voting Yannick Riendeau (I chose other)

I'm not kidding either, this guy oozes hockey IQ. He is by far the smartest prospect in the system hockey wise and he has a knack for finding the right areas of the ice. Once he hits his stride this year, I think everyone will be singing a different tune on this guy.

I chose Sauve based on what I saw of him in 6 games in providence...Flat out this guy can score and skate like the wind. He has great hands and seems like he has the potential to put up better offensive numbers than Colborne. That is why he was ahead of Joe IMO.

Tough call, but I picked Colborne. I think his potential ceiling is a bit higher than Caron's.

Went with Caron. I question whether Colborne will reach his potential. I see I'm fighting a battle that's already lost though.

I believe if you go by NHL ready and can contribute you have to pick Alexandrov.

The new "Big" Joe Colborne

Was I ever wrong about this guy! I didn't like the pick when it was made but I was wrong, wrong, wrong, all the makings of a star forward. Very hopeful for continued improvement and hopefully he gets some time with the big club this season to see how he looks in the big league.

JoCo has everything, size, skill and intangibles. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pick when Chia originally announced it, but everything I've seen and heard points to Colborne being a damn good NHLer.

I think it was pretty obvious that Seguin won #1 and pretty obvious that Colborne will win #2. I think the #3 spot could be very interesting though.

I voted Colbourne because of the leadership he demonstrated at d-camp. Thats a very important attribute to have. If he makes the big team, he will captain them eventually (assuming he isn't traded).

To bad he can't skate and is brittle as Gord Kluzak's knees. He doesn't belong anywhere near the top 15

Did you get a chance to see him play in the QMJHL?

Big Joe!

I am one of the posters that totally wanted the other Joe to suceed, the kid was awesome! He with the shaggy hair, goofy grin, and tantalizing skillset......however, it was not to be.....I still contend that he was totally coming into his own physically until Eric Lindros broke his orbital bone in a fight - one punch take down.....he was never the same guy after that!.....however, I told myself that I would not get fooled again (love that song) with this Joe!!.......however after hearing how he called some of the new kids before prospects camp to warn them of the rigors of camp (trying to help prep them), and hearing the synopses of the great posters here (thank you all, I live in Canada).....I am sold on this kid! He oozes the same skillset as the other Joe, but seems to have the leadership we all hoped that Thornton was going to "grow into to" (making him captain was stupid).

So, my vote is for the new Big Joe!!!

Anyone draw a Joe Thornton comparison to Colbourne? Big kid with some offensive skill and great leadership qualities?

Obviously not as much hype since he wasn't as high of a pick as Thornton was, but maybe Colbourne will develop into a similar player, minus the consistently bad playoff performance.
