Anything else for FA 2010?

Since we passed the madhouse of free agency for the first few days, do you guys think Sather has anything else up his sleeve for us to get a talented center to compliment Gaborik? Or a veteran defensemen? Anything?

I see demeitra signing here one way or another.

there's still a few good names out there, if sather ever stops waiting on his ass on the kovalchuk drama and actually signs staal, I'd like to go after kariya (i think he's an UFA?)

Also by bringing in a guy like Kariya for a year, he shores up the top 6 which doesn't force Torts to play guys a line up from where they should be.

I'd love Kariya for a year. C'mon Slats, get it done!

I think we are done in free agency. Maybe Demitra, but I don't think that's a given. Our first priority is to get Staal signed.

Remember that commercial in 2000 with Gretzky, Mario, and Gordie Howe "passing the torch" to the new era of stars? Lindros, Bure, Jagr, and Kariya. Kariya is the only one who hasn't been a Ranger yet.

Paul Kariya? Really?

Why don't we sign him and Demitra? And maybe even a few other 30+ players.

Kariya would be lucky to score 15 goals on this team.

There is absolutely no point in bringing him in. Go with the youth. There's enough veteran prescence with Vinny and Gabs. Dubinsky and Callahan are not kids anymore. Neither are Staal and Girardi.

Paul Kariya? Pavol Demitra? Just awful.

i really don't think bringing in Demitra is terrible because he is a great center for Gaborik they know how to play together, and if we sign him for a one year deal we can have Stepan improve in the AHL then when next year rolls around he'll hopefully be ready for the NHL

He's 35 years old. Gaborik scored 42 goals just fine without him last year.

This mentality of worrying about guys for Gaborik is nonsense.

Who is not in this lineup if we sign Demitra?

What exactly is the point of him being signed?

It's like you guys just need as many signings as you can get to make you feel better about things, even if they don't actually do anything for us.

I think we are done with FA unless something minor like more vets for HDF. I do think a trade is coming though........I can't see the team starting with these names come September.

The Staal talks are probably holding something up.

This team is so weak at center I just don't see them going with EC, Anisimov, Drury.

I think players that could get moved is just about anyone not named Lundqvist, Staal, and Gabby. Good bet players to get traded if there was a move: Rozsival and/or Dubinsky.
