Flyers sign D Dan Jancevski

per capgeek.com

Two year deal, $525K p/a, $250K p/a in the AHL.

... just an AHL vet.

Meltzer was saying that the Phantoms don't look like they will be much better stocked this year either. I guess not when you keep giving up picks like skittles....this is why the Flyers have to scrounge around the AHL. Looks like Testwuide and possibly Maroon will be serviceable callups with the outside chance Legein plays a bit.Actually Testwuide may make the team outright....I hope his nickname isn't Teste...

It's sad when minor AHL signings are all better than the Shelley signing.

Mark this down as another player signed that isn't a goalie....

My thoughts exactly.

He's just a Mormina replacement.

It's a nice veteran signing for a Phantoms team that figures to have three second-season defensemen (Marshall, Lehtivuori and Bourdon) and a rookie (Gustafsson).

Bill...what's the deal with Marshall and Bourdon? It seems their development has been slow. Can you rank out of the 4 you just mentioned who you project as eventually being a legitimate "homegrown" D man for the Flyers with some staying power? I mean who the heck was the last D man we developed that stuck around..Therien? Eaton and Seidenberg have turned into regulars but not with the Flyers obviously. Picard is still feeling things out and Vandermeer is still a travelling gypsy in the league.

BTW..didn't include Niinimaa and Pitkanen who I think the Flyers didn't develop properly. Pitkanen seems to be rounding himself out now and had a good year with Carolina playing hard minutes.

oh yeah did forget about Yushkevich he was good. Tertyshny I thought was going to be good until the horrible boating accident.

If they needed a veteran, why didn't they just keep Stephenson instead? I guess his near thrown down with the head coach Idiot Stick might have had something to do with that.....

He had 12 points in 24 games in the AHL playoffs last year. Could be a good signing for the Phantoms I suppose. Don't know anything about him, but they needed defenders. Still do, I think. Unless there are some AHL only contracts that I'm unaware of.
