Emery and Elliott are the only two who have ever played more than 30 games in an NHL season.

Our organization can't develop goalies for **** until proven otherwise.

Why do we want Wheeler?
I definitely see your point, but Lehner's different. Even if he didn't have the talent, he'd still bethe hardest working goalie in the NHL.

But that's why Kovalev was signed!

What good is that?

We don't need him next season, nor in the future. Blake Wheeler is a 2nd line quality winger at best and we have more than enough 2nd line quality players signed into the near future, under control and potential 2nd liner prospects that we have no use whatsoever for this guy.

The gigantic problem for our organization is going to be when Alfie slips to 2nd liner status:

______ - Spezza - ______
Michalek - Fisher - Alfie
Foligno - Regin - Petersson/Silfverberg/Wick/Butler/Hoffman/Caporusso/whoever

I like Spezza, fine kid... but I'm not so sure that I want to see what happens to a team when he's by far the only go to guy on it. Wheeler is useless to us now and in the future.

Jamie Storr kept a notebook of every goal he ever allowed so that he could figure out ways to make sure to close that gap next time. Every prospect offers some little tidbit to be excited about. Martin Prusek blew the IHL away and where is he now?

Ott should keep their young prospect. Give it another year with Kovalev coming off the books. That was a terrible signing last year. What are some GMs thinking.
