FFS, enough with the threads of seto/clowe straight for kabs. The sharks aren't going to do it and the value isn't there. Kabs + for either is where it should start.

Versteeg playing top line center? And do the Leafs bury Grabovski? Also Kaberle doesn't get Seto and by the looks of it Gagne is the winger available out of Philly.

Setoguchi for one-year wonder Kaberle.

Sorry Maple Laughs the Sharks aren't giving Seto for one year of Kaberle.

Value wise = no, and cap space wise = also no... If somehow the Leafs were able to make both deals, the total salary would push the Leafs over the 10% cap (no minors during off season) so the NHL would void the 2nd deal anyways.

The first deal would only make sense if the Sharks are able to work out an extension with Kabs because otherwise he's a pure rental at this point.

Second deal, look for a team thats rebuilding and they might consider it...

first deal is very fair as seto is an rfa people, last time i checked a year of someone is worth more then zero years. both teams have expressed interest in the others assets as well.

Second deal couldnt be done as the leafs would be over the cap but value wise is decent. toronto needs top 6 forwards and philly needs to shed salary, im sure they'd rather ditch scotty over simon anyday too

Seto has expressed he doesn't plan on playing anywhere else and that hes going to resign. He's at the prospect camp right now with the new little sharkies. DW isn't going to put his salary on the books until he brings in more D.

Also Seto has potential, kabs is old and overrated(doesn't want to play in the west to)

YA ITS RLY FAIR

Yes but with Seto cause he's RFA you will get compensation if someone signs him

I love the lineup! Now only if we can hold Mr.Bettman hostage and force him to raise the cap to 70 mil we'll be all good...ha

Yes, but if you're going to quote a post, read the whole thing, was pretty clear that his intended meaning was different than the norm. Otherwise, yes, he's an idiot.

seto isnt exactly the second coming. he would be a good addition but he is a right winger to my knowledge so i doubt that burke would have much interest with kessel-versteeg-armstrong-orr down the right side. i would have much more interest in clowe + something for kaberle. he would fill a bigger need for the leafs.

for the same reason i dont really have much interest in hartnal although i wouldnt mind him on the leafs. he is a beast though, i would think philly would want to hold on to him. having him in the playoffs will be huge for philly.
For the same reasons we have absolutely NO interest in Kaberle.

We need DEFENSIVE defensemen first and foremost. We need players that are going to stick around long term. Kaberle is the opposite of both.

Seriously, Kaberle ruined Toronto's chances of being able to trade him to SJ with his comments. So please find another suitor and quit it with these threads.

OH MY GOD

We dont want Kaberle. At all.

Seto is staying, we need his speed as Marleau is the only other fast top 6 guy.

I would rather go after Carle, Liles, Bieksa or White.

But they are trading for one year of Kaberle...Why is that so hard for Leaf fans to understand?

B..b...b..bbut he can sign an extension.

No reason for the Leafs to do the SJ trade.... Versteeg is not a 1st line centre, he's not even a centre....considering the Leafs need for size on the wing, Seto really has minimal value to the Leafs beyond the ability to flip him elsewhere.

If Philly is intent on dumping Hartnell instead of Gagne, the Leafs could/should probalbly be willing to take on his cap hit for a couple prospects like Hanson/Stefanovich.... obviously taking advantage of the fact that Hartnell did not have a great year, has 3 years remaining and doesn't exactly play the type of game that leads to longevity.

So...you end up with something like:
Hartnell-Bozak-Kessel
Kulemin-Grabovski-Versteeg
Sjostrom-Kadri/other centre-Armstrong
Brown-Mitchell-Orr
Caputi

Phaneuf-Beauchemin
Kaberle-Komisarek
Schenn-Gunnarsson
Lebda
