And to repeat someone else's question;
At the very least 3 years, if they're signed for longer (Marc Savard) then congratulations you have him locked up.

We'll be using CapGeek.

Philkessel is on the clock.

ImOnFire81 has been skipped and will get to make his selection when he gets back.

Slow draft for the first round. 5 picks in 6.5 hours, looks like my 13th pick might not happen today. At this rate, for 20 rounds we will need the better part of a month to complete the draft...

Yep, I was hoping people would show more enthusiasm...

I'll switch the time limit to two hours as long as I have people who agree with me?

I'd agree with that.

We should also PM the next person after drafting a player to notify them that they are on the clock. Someone suggested that we make an additional post to this board after doing so. It could help speed things up.

Completely... Time Limit should be 2 Hours.. PM the next GM to let them know that they are on the clock, and post along with your pick confirmation that you have done so.

This will speed things up... once we get into the flow things will start moving quicker and more smoothly

I just PMed Wabbit aswell.

Each GM should message the next person after making their selection and post that this was done.

2 hours is great. And I assume we can send you a list for our pick if we think we may not be around?

Wabbit has been skipped and can pick whenever he returns.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are proud to select Evgeni Malkin.

*does he not look like the old Jagr there?

This is my reply to philkessel, others can feel free to add and/or elaborate but should give basic idea.

What it is, is a simulated game where each of your players have ratings in a variety of categories (scoring, defense, speed, skating, etc). You assemble your team of rated players and compete against the other teams. Having better rated players will help you win more games but you also need to have role players and a properly mixed team, and compete within the salary cap.

It plays out a season, just like the NHL, and followed by a playoffs where GM's compete to win the Stanley Cup with their players.

In the off-season, players get re-rated, based on how they played in the NHL the previous season.

Everything else is the same idea as NHL where you have to resign your own free agents, draft from new prospects, and compete for UFA's with all the other GM's.

It's a lot of fun if you're into that sort of thing. Feel free to ask for more details if you need.

Thanks for that explanation, Jamie. One more question, how do you post a picture of the guy you're drafting?
