Grabovski

Looks like everyone hates him (including me)
Would you give anything for him? Because I'll take anything

Yeah if we don't trade him. I hope he rebounds from his 20 goal season

I bet my left *** you do not get anything near a first round pick. You might get late a second. Don't get your hopes up! hahaha

Remember, Alex Tanguay got a 1st round pick for CAL. from MTL. Grabovski is nowhere near what Tanguay was at that time (coming off 80 point season)

I thought at the draft we could probably get a 3rd for him, now I would prefer to trade him for a cheap 3rd lien centre

He had value before he signed his 3M contact. Now... not so much.

There is 0 reason for the Leafs to trade Grabovski. Without him, we're looking at relying on 38 combined games of experience to play the most important position on both of our scoring lines. Doing that sets the team up for another basement finish. $2.9m is a fair price for a guy that puts up 48 points over a full season.

Considering that he's coming off a sophmore slump, is a very hot/cold streaky player (some nights he's useless, some nights he looks like a star), and that consistency is somethign that generally improves with experience; there's no reason why he shouldn't put up around 20 goals and 55 points this year as a baseline. All he'd have to do is turn one out of every 6 or 7 bad games into a good one.

Well judging by the fact that the Leafs have the worst top 2 centers in the league and that he doesn't fit in on a checking line he has little value at best. If he can't beat out a pair of rookies what other team would want him?

Exactly, unless we get someone better the Lefas shouldn't trade him

Exactly. Unless the Leafs find a team who is looking to shed some salary at the centre ice position while still needing to get a quality centre back; there really isn't a lot of trade possibilities for Grabo right now.

If Boston ends up deciding to trade Savard to the Leafs... then Grabovski will most likely have to be moved for salary reasons; in which case it would problably be in the best interest of a team like the Florida Panthers to take him on at the cost of a guy like Steven Reinprecht + a pick....although he really isn't the penalty killing centre the Leafs need.

People wonder why Leafs fans have such a ridiculously bad reputation on these boards?

The bad reputation comes from those incapable of sarcasm. Haven't you been following hockey lately?

Anyways, Grabovski is a good stop-gap center at the moment, while Kadri adapts. I just don't see the room for him at the moment with his skillset. The top-six is small as it is. Who does he play with? There's only so much he can do with Kulemin. Stalberg was the other guy I was penciling alongside the guy, but he returned another small top-six.

Ok, so fans of other teams can make fun of the Leafs whenever they want, but not vise-versa?

Actually, I doubt it's sarcasm.

That's the same dude that proposed:

Kaberle for Hemsky and Gagner, and Kaberle for Perry...

You will be lucky to get a 2nd round pick for him.

Overpaid, heartless and a head case

By the look of his posts, the guy's obviously not a Leafs fan, he's just a troll pretending to be one...every fanbase has them.

We just happen to have a lot

Rusty Olesz for Grabo.

It's hard to think of many players I'd be hesitant to see Rusty traded for, but Grabovski comes close enough to think it might be possible.

Olesz doesn't fill a need and has a terrible contract. Grabovski may not have much value, but he doesn't warrant taking Olesz's ugly contract. He also outscored him in less games played

Why do you hate him so much? He's good for 10-20 goals and 35-50 points. Until we get someone better than that to be our 2nd line center (don't say Kadri, because he's played 1 NHL game...until he plays more we can't pencil him in as our #2 center), I'd be hesitant to move him.

No need for the help sign -- I did say might be possible. For what he brings, Grabo's contract isn't that appealing either.
