1st Line-Hartnell does dirty work, Richards passes & shoots, and Zherdev shoots. 2nd line is essentially the same thing, Carcillo wins pucks, Briere passes & shoots, and Carter shoots. My main concern with this line would be that there's not enough puck to go around. 3rd line is 3 guys that have a whole lot of offensive talent.

3rd line scares me defensively a little, but otherwise, I think it would work ok.
Carter and Zherdev is not a good idea. Both need the puck on their stick to be effective (they'd be magic on the PP though). And I think there is no doubt the Hartnell, Briere, Leino line starts off the season, but they will inevitably be split up for various reasons, so I'll post what the second set of lines should be when that happens.
Zherdev - Richards - Leino (Two creative players and one workhorse)
JVR - Carter - Hartnell (Tell JVR and Hartnell to go to the net and battle for rebounds when Carter shoots. Then JVR can work magic down low in the corners)
Carcillo - Briere - Giroux (Not exactly a defensively sound line, but I think it can be effective offensively)
why do we always give richards the crappy linemates?
He's our Captain, he can handle it. But I was thinking of switching Hartnell with JvR too.
And for the record I would keep Hartnell/Breire/Leino together, but Carter ruins everything by trying to keep that line together. So as much as I want to keep them, I doubt it will happen.
leino is rw, harts is lw. I assume these lines r not in order? Ie briere line is not #1? Jvr is a lw, not rw.
Oops thought leino and hartnell played opposite sides in the playoffs.. I know JVR Is LW but there aren't enough RWs if I want Briere and Giroux to be Center.. Try moving him to right side?
And Briere is my fav player, so w/e line he's on is gonna be my top line LOL.

Because he's the biggest constant this team has at forward. No matter what, we don't have to worry about who his line mates are -- he's going to be busting his ass and good for something. Because our brilliant general manager insists on being so brilliant, we'll have at least one line where you're going "Huh? Well...I guess." Richards is the thankless man to burden at least one sap on his shoulders.
I'd switch Carcillo and Shelley. There is no way Shelley cracks the third line if Carcillo is healthy/sane imo.
But being honest Shelly and Carcillo shouldnt be anywhere near that lines. Heres hoping that a rook comes and and plays his heart out at camp winning a top 9 spot. Then Carcillo gets 4th line, Shelly is in the box.
But Im telling you right now, Homer truely thinks Shelly is going to be a points guy on our team, just because he scored on us last season.
So I was looking through all the line combos you guys came up with. Is there no chance Richards will play left wing? I heard it might go Richards - Carter - ???(Zherdev maybe)
1) Solid Prospect in pending/inevitable trade (most likely involving Gagne).
2) Divin' Dan if he can keep his temper under control.
3) Nodl/Testuwide/Maroon if he switches to RW
