Spacek 1 year less then Commy, would love to see the man back, qb our pp and potentially not have to worry about losing stralman? Sounds good right there, Pac is already better then Blunden and has more potential, and add a second on top of all that? Count me in.

No thanks... Spacek had a rough first year as a Hab, but switching him to Commodore is not remotely worth giving up the other young assets to do. Pacioretty and a 2nd? A 1st and 2nd, basically, to switch Spacek to Commodore? Why? It makes no sense.

PG snickers, then respectfully says no. Then bursts out laughing after he hangs up. But really, Blunden is worth nothing much seeing as he is injury prone. Commodore is worse than Spacek IMO. Pacioretty and a 2nd is just too much for the return. Plus, we still don't have a 2nd rounder next year... Yet.

I'd do the deal even WITHOUT the 2nd round pick coming back to the CBJ.

You're giving Montreal nothing. Try to make one with Filatov in there and you'll get a few listeners from the Habs side.

Oh, c'mon. It wasn't that unbalanced.

Yeah, this is pretty much a "where do I sign?" for Columbus and a "where's the lube?" for Montreal.

No thanks on the Filatov proposal. The first proposal okay, but I don't really care to have Spacek back in Columbus. He was okay when he was here but I just don't like his face. Kind of like in the movie Step Brothers at the helicopter convention scene.

It wasn't that unbalanced? Commodore and Blunden for a top 4D, PF prospect ready in less than a year and a 2nd?

I'm giving you a top 4D + a top 6 Forward for a prospect D too early to determine his real value and a potential star who might/might not stay put for the next three years.

Commodore's a top-4 D as well, just with a different skillset. The principal ripoff was Blunden for MacPac+2nd, which is of course ludicrous insanity.

Your counterproposal involves sending $7m of cap to Columbus in the form of one player we'd kinda like and one player we do not need and do not want, and taking back $1.3-$2m (depending on bonuses) in the form of the best prospect Columbus has and another prospect we really like. Therefore, it's significantly more one-sided.

You got plenty of prospects on defense and Savard isn't your top one. Kostitsyn is a top 6 RW 30-35 goal-potential which you certainly need. This would take you to 22 players and $2.5M cap space with Blunden to re-sign. And Spacek is worth more than Commodore.

I tell you what: I'll add the 2nd round pick since you seem like a nice guy

Thank goodness real GMs don't judge physical appearance when drafting and trading for players.

*girl. Andrei Kostitsyn is one of my favorite players, but there's no place for him to play unless Huselius is moved.

Hon? Our top-6 RWs for the forseeable future are Rick Nash and Jakub Voracek. We don't need another.

And Savard isn't our top D prospect, no, but he is the one moving up the most quickly and therefore one of the most intriguing ones.

...and truth be told, despite AKost's potential (and the overwhelming lulz that would come from having him playing against his brother in Nashville), I'd rather keep Huselius; he's at least consistently good for 60+ points every year, even if he is maddeningly streaky.

Isn't Huselius on the left wing? AK is a left-shooter used on the right wing.

Nash is much the same, so he'd probably be moved to left wing in such a scenario and Voracek moved up, thus making a spot available for AKost.

Again, personally, that wouldn't be my favorite way to proceed (especially since that means our second line would likely consist of Filatov-Brassard-Kostitsyn - the Slump Line? ), but it'd be doable.
