Does it matter? I mean seriously. At this point, does anyone really care?

Ah well. Congrats, Devils' fans. I just hope his cap hit isn't too high.

Exactly two players showed up in the playoffs last year for the Devils.

Kovalchuk and Zubrus.

Confirmation. Kings are definitely out of Kovalchuk sweeps... He came back with a big NO. Gagne for Justin Williams looks very possible. 5 minutes ago via Osfoora HD

Oh please. If that were true, why isn't he in the KHL now?

Props to the organization for keeping this on the down low long enough to get it on the twitter account.

I know the big guns aren't working as hard, but this usually leaks out well before the team can announce it.

Well if someone offers him an offer sheet of say 7.5 Million a year the devils might get screwed over. Not that it will happen, but you never know.

No chance Zajac leaves. More likely Arnott and Langenbrunner are allowed to walk, and that money goes to Parise.

Devils can match 7.5 next year, assuming they even let it go that long with extending him.

I wonder why New Jersey decided to go this route if it didn't work for them last year. However, I do see Los Angeles going after Gagne now.

RDS reported that this is the amount on RIS 2 minutes ago.

They didn't confirm, but it's pretty darn likely.

That's a 8.5M cap hit.

I'd disagree some parts of New Jersey are really nice and very expensive.

Cap hit under 7, steal for New Jersey

Cap hit between 7-7.75, good signing for New Jersey

Cap hit between 7.75-8.5, getting pricey but he's worth it

Cap hit above 8.5, that's a huge amount of cash to tie up between your LWs... (When Parise signs next year)
