To Colin White in our discussion on Brodeur:

I'm honestly not sure, I don't want to come in here and tell you guys about your team. This is just outside opinions. Also I'm a fantasy hockey fanatic who had Brodeur on his team last season so I was obsessing over Brodeur's statistical trends. I watched a few Devils games last season and honestly from watching Brodeur, I think he got weighed down by the work load. Also from watching his numbers he was leading the league in games played for goalies which at his age is crazy. I say that this trend is as a result of Brodeur more than the team around him because you'll notice this inconsistent play continued into the Olympics. If the Devils coaching staff can figure out how to manage Brodeur and can build some trust in Hedberg (who's a hell of a goalie) I'd have to think this Devils team is going to be a favorite next season.

It's possible, although the team's play in general took a noticeable dive in February and never recovered from it - not even bringing in Kovalchuk helped much. I do think the team NEEDS to give Marty more rest, and that Hedberg will help with that. Danis simply didn't have Hedberg's record when it comes to being a reliable backup.

Hopefully - and this is really a hope - Brodeur finally lets himself take some nights off.

I'm curious to see whether the Kings will re-sign Frolov as a backup plan, even after their fans were busy trashing him when it looked like they were going to get Kovy. Even funnier would be if Lou managed to trade Rolston to them. Insult to injury.

I love that the only news from the Rangers yesterday was that Sean Avery suspended his Twitter account. The team actually tweeted that yesterday. Makes me roll on the floor laughing my ass off. I wish there was a way I could shorten that.
