pittsburgh has to play the Devils, and the Flyers 12 times...the Caps get to beat up on their division...i dont see the pens winning the conference.

Yeah, but I see them as the better team than Washington right now. Malkin had an off-year and they added to their defense. I honestly think they may be able to win most of their games even in the division, I am thinking 110-120 points.

Flip Pittsburgh and Washington and put Tampa a little higher and I agree with this list.
everyone that thinks that the rangers aren't gonna make the playoffs and putting them behind the islanders are ****ing retarded.
Ok, I'll bite.
What makes you think that this team, as is, will make the playoffs? For that to happen, Lundqvist literally has to turn into a brick wall for the 70 or so games he plays, Gaborik will have to stay healthy all season and score 50 and net 100 points, Drury would have to play up to his contract, McDonagh and any other rookies will have to step in and make positive impacts straight away, and Dubinsky and Callahan will have to take the next step.
That's a hell of a lot of things to happen if this team even wants to compete this season.

Rangers get the injury bug, which we've luckily avoided for the most part and get pounded in a tough atlantic division.

Are we retarded for thinking they won't make the playoffs (which is VERY likely) or for thinking they finish behind the Isles (which might be less likely but is still possible?) I think you underestimate just how not great this team is. lol

It's not just that. The conference generally got better from top to bottom. The Rangers are counting on continuity and development from their younger players. Guess what? So are Carolina, Toronto, Atlanta and the Islanders. Imagine if the Rangers lost Henke last year the same amount of time Carolina lost Ward? TB just added Gagne and Ellis, Hedman is in his 2nd year, and Stamkos is in his 3rd? They just flew by the Rangers. You can make a case that Toronto is not as good as the Rangers, although, their D looks stronger, and they added Armstrong and Versteeg. Atlanta added Ladd, Byfuglien and Mason, and should expect continued growth from Kane, Little, Bergfors and Bogosian. The Rangers aren't operating in a vacuum here. Teams behind them got better, and teams in front of them widened the gap.

Which is exactly how I feel.
I merely addressed the deficiencies of our own team, not even addressing how much better every other team around us got. The future doesn't look too shabby, but we're in for a painful upcoming season.
