Boston-Atlanta

To Boston:

Paul Postma or Zach Redmond

To Atlanta:

Michael Ryder
Minnesota's 2nd round pick 2011

B's get a solid D prospect and don't take no salary back and Atlanta get's a winger which they don't have many of and also get a high 2nd round pick.

B's save 4 million in cap space to sign Seguin and Wheeler and lineup's would look like this...

Lucic-Savard-Horton
Sturm-Krejci-Wheeler
Recchi-Bergeron-Seguin
Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Put Caron, Colborne or Sauve in Sturm's spot till he returns.

ATL has 12 NHL ready forwards with machecek, klingberg, cormier & burmistrov also fighting for a spot..they dont need to take on a salary dump for one year..especially at the cost of Postma or Redmond.

no dice.

Give up one of our top D prospects for Ryder?! Not a chance.

Besides, we are stocked with 3rd and 4th liners.

Sorry B's, you're stuck with Ryder.

Both of those top D prospects were 7th round picks and your gettin a 2nd rounder back plus a guy who can probably put up 20 goals for ATL this year.

and Postma is looking like a STEAL at this point.

ATL would rather give a kid a look than throw away $4m on someone who would arguably be their 9th best forward behind kane, antro, bergie, ladd, peverley, buff, little, white...

not a fit...try Long Island

and i wouldnt give Postma away for a 2nd at this point

Who cares when they were selected? Ryder is now a 35 point guy getting paid $4 mil for one more season before he's a UFA. Why would we trade one of our top-3 D prospects for that?

We're stocked with 3rd and 4th liners. Ryder's contract is awful and he's got a year left till UFA.

Nope.

Atlanta declines. Paul Postma is arguably our second best d-prospect (or first best, if Kulda doesn't count anymore) and Redmond is set to take that spot in a year after graduating from NCAA play. Both are good, don't let their draft position fool you.

To acquire one of them, the Thrashers would rather take Wheeler over Ryder. Furthermore, you'd probably need to take one of our bottom 6ers in return.

No, we don't want Ryder. At the moment these any of players might be in the bottom six:

-Andrew Ladd
-Dustin Byfuglien
-Patrice Cormier
-Ben Eager
-Chris Thorburn
-Eric Boulton
-Todd White
-Jim Slater
-Spencer Machacek
-Alex Burmistrov
-Carl Klingberg
-Fredrick Petterson

so on so on.

Ya thing is Wheeler isn't signed yet so that won't save us any money at all, so you guy's have no interest in Ryder at all? lol guess i'll try to get the Islanders to take him.

atlanta has a ridiculous number of bottom six players. we could probably dress 6 lines. we don't need another forward unless they are a true top 6 player.

No. It doesn't matter that they were 7th round draft picks. Enstrom one of our top defensmen now was a 8th round pick. Kulda whom is going to be a star was a 7th round pick.

No dice.

Ryder has negative value... you probably need a first just to dump off his contract. Better off just burying him in the minors (not sure if the B's bury players though... esp. 4 mil players).

im sick of people saying Ryder has no value... guy has scored 25 or more goals in 4 of his 6 seasons as well as 53 or more pts in 4 of 6 seasons. i hope he puts up 30/30 for the Bruins.

its also the last year of his deal and players tend to always perform their best in the last year of a deal heading into FA.

More power to him, but we have like 20 Ryders in our system.

How about something like Michael Ryder for Todd White.

The Bruins then buyout White, bury him in the minors, or dump his contract somewhere else (with additional assets tacked on). Similar to the Ward for Eaves deal last summer.

Ryder's still a good player. He just makes too much money for a cap crunched team like the Bruins. The fact that he scored 18 goals in a down year says something (team leader had like 22). He's got a laser of a shot and should be able to pot 25+ in a contract year.

Ryder for White I'd do...Atlanta still needs a shooting RW if they're not bringing back MacArthur or Afinogenov. So far they only have Little and Byfuglien as top nine RWs. It's not enough.

Kane-Peverley-Ryder would be a decent line.
