\If the kid gets 90+ points and 45+ goals again this season, he'll be getting 7+ million at the end of his ELC.

Anyways, I'm thinking a 5 year deal with a 6.9mil cap hit.

I'd give Stamkos 8 years, $54.4 million.

The problem is that Lowe started the 2nd contract giving big ones to players who didn't necessarily deserve it - he gave based on potential, not based on performance. Those players you listed have the performance to back up their paycheques.

Did Penner deserve $4.25m after he had a 45pt season? He only just last year lived up to that paycheque.

Well clearly I go finish the job and **** Holmgren's wife. It's about all he has left to do to tear that man apart.

Then I sit back and go, "I'm Steve ****ing Yzerman".

Ovech is getting $9M a year
Crosby is getting $9M a year
Lecav is getting $10 M a year

Stamkos tied for most goals.anything less than 7 M per year is a slap in the face to this great player.

If I pretend I am Steve Yzerman, I would look in the mirror and say "Damn you're dreamy, Steve".

11-year deal for 82.5 million. Lecavalier's time in TB has come and gone, time to ship him out if their are still takers for him.

I agree with a previous poster in that if he drops near 50 again with 90 pts, he's going to be looking to be paid like a star. the Backstrom deal did TB a huge favor in that regard, as backstrom has had higher pts totals than stammer. I doubt TB/Stamkos want a 10 yr deal, but assuming production remains level (and the cap ticks up another couple mill), 5 yrs/32-35 mill (6.5-7/yr) is probably a fair deal for both sides.

if koivu just made 6.75, then stamkos will be making substantially more

Front loaded contract, 25 years at 6 million per!

Probably similar to a Toews or Kane contract, probably shorter term. If TB can get that, they stay competitive, but it will depend on this year's performance I suppose.

Stamkos: Age 20, 95pts career high. Known for offensive ability (Rocket Richard).
Backstrom: Age 22, 101pts career high. Known for offensive ability (4th in league scoring last year).
Koivu: Age 27 (contract starts when he's aged 28), 71pts career high. Known for defensive abilities.

one of these things is not like the other...

Why on Earth would you compare him to Koivu?

does anyone know their real cap situation?

I know they have loads of space, but do they have an internal cap and what is it at? caz they may have to move vinny before give stamkos a long term at 6+

Stamokos deserves at least a 10 year deal for around 8 mill per season.
