I agree with a previous poster in that if he drops near 50 again with 90 pts, he's going to be looking to be paid like a star. the Backstrom deal did TB a huge favor in that regard, as backstrom has had higher pts totals than stammer. I doubt TB/Stamkos want a 10 yr deal, but assuming production remains level (and the cap ticks up another couple mill), 5 yrs/32-35 mill (6.5-7/yr) is probably a fair deal for both sides.

Stamkos: Age 20, 95pts career high. Known for offensive ability (Rocket Richard).
Backstrom: Age 22, 101pts career high. Known for offensive ability (4th in league scoring last year).
