Keenan is crazy, but he isn't stupid.

Horton is his type of player, Hossa is not.

Plus it wouldn't be enough.

Horton is Keenan's type of player. He won't trade him

For Keenan to be somewhat interested, you have to start with Komisarek because he's a Keenan type of player: big, strong, agressive.

Wich Habs fan wouldn't do that trade?!?! But just forget that. Horton is kind of untouchebale...Keenan will never trade him for a couple of prospects. Keep in mind that a GM trade a prospect for imediate help...

Add komisarek and next year first and they will listen.

Stop try to trade for a star without giving anything, it's ridiculous.

But Beatnik you don't think that Horton is the PERFECT player for the habs?? He is a power forward that have tremedous skills and this guy give his 110% every day he is a big player with a lot of skills, strong, charachter player thats what the habs lacks over the the years and don't forget he can play winger and center if ribs didn't respond Horton can replace him and it will be a tremendous line Horton-Koivu-Kovalev or Ryder-Horton-Perezhogin but as like you said it will cost a lot to get him he is a futur superstar I dont think 1 round 04 , 3rd round 04 , marcel hossa and Ron Hainsey will be enough.Anyway Horton is what the habs need to build a strong team .BTW sorry for the english it's my fourth language.

It make no sense for the Panthers. It would take much more because saku will be UFA in 2 years

Also Koivu is so valuable to us, I don't think we could get a fair value for him.

No.

There's no player in the Habs system that would land Horton straight up.

I'd much prefer to see the habs pursue either a Defenseman or a big LW

We have alot of depth on the right side.

I really think that any talk of Horton being dealt is a non-starter because as far as I can tell there is no reason for Florida to trade him. As much as Leaf trolls annoy me , I think Leafaholix has a point & to further that I think many teams don't have a player that could land Horton straight up ( Leafs included) because of the investment Florida has in him. Unless the new regime doesn't like him (can't see why they wouldn't) the only way he gets dealt is if the offer is overvalued, but I don't think he's shown enough for any GM to put his neck on the line.

In reality, the Habs next power forward is coming from the draft with an outside chance of a trade. However a trade would have to be an unexpected blockbuster for an experienced player or maybe taking a chance on an underachiever. IMO

Or in a crazy blockbuster package deal to try and land Sidney Crosby, if ever they are part of the teams that will engage in an insane bidding war to get him.

Well now that I think of it that was the Rick Dudley way.

Hehehe, I agree with you... and to the hab fans, take of the pink glasses off, it won't happen, let's try to promote the prospects we got instead of trying to get superstars in the making from other teams, which isn't going to happen, and show our faith in André Savard's drafting...

I don't very like Wheeler and I don't think Staffy and LAdd will be available at 18th we will have to move up a few spots to get one of the two and I really don't think we can trade a player to move up a few spots

There are about 1 - 2 threads every couple of days based on trying every single trade possible and seeing if they would work
