I'm excited with Lehner, I like his attitude and his size and hope he will break the goalie curse.
I also think that Culek was a steal in the 3rd round: Look at his size: 17 years old and 6-4 195 lbs. I never really saw him play but I've seen a TV report on him and Straka, about how they saved Rimouski's season. But I have to rely on the reporter cuz I never saw him play.
It was quite evident that Cowen, Z. Smith & Lehner were the three best prospects at the Development Camp. Gryba, Butler, Silfverberg & Cowick I would say were next then it gets harder trying to rank everybody else, they are all good players. I liked Culek because of a couple of slick moves he made with the puck & went around the goalie & scored. He also has some good size & when he fills out has all the tools to be a good player. They have him projected as a 3rd line centre but he looks like he could be better than that to me, I thought he had some very good skill to his game.
I'm most excited to see Lehner I think, plenty of expectations but at this point he looks very promising. While I wouldn't say I'm excited by Sorenson I'm definitely most intrigued by him, pretty much no expectations and if he cracks the lineup one day that would be a great story.
Oh and Wick too, can't wait to see what he can do in NA.
Wiercioch. But I've also got some big hopes for Sorensen. I figure the team must have seen something special in this kid to pick him. He's an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a mystery.
Dude, love the logic. In Forsberg we trust(ed).
Aside from the big name guys, I was pretty stoked when they drafted Corey Cowick. Going to see 67s games, I love that guy's game, decent skill-set, huge energy and pure f'ing heart. I would definitely bet on him being on the 3rd/4th line a few years and a fan favourite. Hahaha..but then again, I always cheer for local guys to make the team.
