Leafs wouldnt have the cap room for this.

And Im not a huge Souray fan. He has a big game, but hes pretty old, and is injury prone

for sure, injury prone. Most Leafs would have laughed off this hit and not missed a shift.

who gives a **** how a player gets injured? injury prone is a term used for players who have a history of injuries, or are likely to get injured (again)...

Can you please explain the purpose of this trade? Our D is fine the way it is (with or without Kaberle) and Brule isn't a top-six forward at this point in his career.

Souray is bringing LESS back than Gagne did .......to get rid of him , you have to take back another one of the TOP 10 WORST CONTRACTS ........
switch Beau for Finger .....and the Oilers add a 2nd round pick

Toronto has absolutely no interest in this.

Sheldon Souray should be banned from the trade forum.

Leafs have absolutely no use for Souray, Kaberle or no Kaberle. And the Oilers can get better value from a team that actually has interest in Souray.

Not even sure about that. Oilers would need to sweeten the pot for a team to take him at this point. If teams were interested they would have picked him up off waivers.

im indifferent to this, ive always like soray, not sure why. brule would be A decent addition too

i think it would be a decent move for either team oil could use beauchemin, but id be happy keeping himm as well

souray is somewhat of a question mark because hes injury prone and bad defensively

Bury him in the minors. Then he's gone.

Moving Souray isn't worth giving up Brule in the process.

I always thought Brule was the type of player that Burke would LOVE to have. He is extremely gritty for a player of his size, and is solid offensively. He can be a scorer in the top six, or a grinder in the bottom six. He had more hits per game than any Maple Leaf forward last season. He also isn't afraid to fight. He always loses his fights though, but that is because he hasn't fought anyone that is even close to him in size yet. But you have to admire a guy who is 5'10 and is willing to drop the gloves with 6'4 Paul Mara, right?

All that being said, I don't think the Oilers are planning on trading him. We traded for him, gave him a year in the AHL and then last season was sort of a second rookie season for him. 17 goals and 37 points in 65 games were impressive numbers for him last season, especially on that crappy Oilers team. A lot of us Oilers fans think that he might still be able to reach his original potential, or at least come close to it. He is only 23 years old, and we have high hopes for him. As long as he has that "bust" label, his value will be low, so we would probably rather develop him ourselves than trade him away right now.

The deal is Sjostrom and Ryan for Brule

Beauchamin for souray is a wash

Oilers say yes

Leafs fans will ask for a pick back
