100th Anniversary Pregame, looking back

Hey there guys. Tonight I watched the 100th Anniversary game which I had TiVoed again. I don't remember being on HF Boards much that night, I think I watched it at my girlfriends house.

I must say, even watching it again, I teared up. Has anyone re-watched it and still done this? Or am I the only one to do it to begin with? There were a few parts where I did.

I'm really glad we had that ceremony, it was so great.

Also, does anyone know where I could maybe buy a panoramic picture with all the teams? I'd love that for my dorm room next year.

I'm glad I could motivate you to do so!

I really did realize how much it meant to me. I'm going to watch it whenever I can use a Habs-loving boost.

I was there. Seeing Patrick step on the ice (amongst others, obviously) was one of the best moments of my life. I literally almost cried.. I never thought Id see St-Patrick in a Habs jersey again!

I purchased the poster by calling the habs store at the Bell Center. I then took it to Costco to get dry mounted for 60 bucks. It looks great on my wall

I don't really know why for sure, I never really idolized him, but Gordie Howe speaking made me teary eyed too.

The ceremony was flawless, I really don't think it could have went better. Even Viggo Mortensen was a nice touch.

The best moment of the night in my opinion however was Mike Cammalleri saying 'wow' on the bench in response to the crowd after his hat trick goal.

Also, excluding the playoffs, that may have been the best game they played all season. Either that or when they robbed Washington of their winning streak.

Great game, definitely an instant classic.

The highlights vid reminds me why I want us to keep Pacioretty, to begin the season in the AHL, put some more meat on his bones, and we got a player there...

And the ceremony, and the victory after that...

I was just going to post that about Pacioretty. Not only that but I remember Price played well that game too.

Big Bruins fan at work came up to me and said even he teared up...and it was one of the greatest things he had ever seen.

Say what you want, but the Habs know how to put on a show... Class all the way.

I think it was after the Forum closed and they put on that magnificent ceremony with the torch, that one sports writer wrote, "There are two organizations on the planet that define the word 'class': Buckingham Palace, and the Montreal Canadiens."

That's stuck with me ever since. (Say what you will about the rest of the royal family, but the Queen is one of the classiest people on the face of the earth!)

i had my works christmas party last year on that night at the Windsor Hotel right next door to the Bell Center. I and a few co-workers missed the meal so we can watch the game at the St Hubert right next door, and it was well worth it. What game...Cammy's hat trick, Price's unbelieavable performance, the team playing as if it was their last game they`ll ever play..and of course the ceremony itself.. it was magical.

I was 5 months old when the Habs last won the cup, so this for me was the most impactful hockey moment in my life. Just a perfect night. The opening ceremonies were perfection and what's better than a 5-1 thrashing of our rival including a hat-trick from our most electrifying, most passionate player? I'll never forget that night. If you think about it, getting Cammy, Gomez, Gionta, This Game, the emergence of Josh Gorges, the amazing play-off run including Subban's coming out party... This was one hell of a season to be a Habs fan

Go Go!

Agreed with both of you. I'm not a patches fan by any stretch really, but he played a great game. Then again, even d'agostini did something right that game. Maybe it was the ghosts?

I thought the best part of the night was when O'byrne gave Bouchard his old number 3 jersey, Bouchard was so happy about it.

Even though I'm sure o'byrne had no choice, he looked so happy to do it. That gesture meant a lot, I agree.

Watching the game highlights, it shows how strong the team can be when they're "on". Pacioretty shows that he's gonna be a really good player one day, he just needs to fill out a bit more.

I just loved seeing the mix of old timers and new guys. Like Gomez infront of Richard, beside Roy, Price talking with Dryden, incredible.
