Seriously, if Gordie Howe's there, I cannot see why Rocket Richard is absent.

Mike Myers at #3 is a disgrace. Other than that, it's great (for an ESPN list).

CBC is letting canadians vote for 'the greatest canadian'...here's their list of choices.

http://www.cbc.ca/greatest/greatcanadians/index.html

Thankfully it includes more than just athletes, musicians and comics.

They're so bad that if they were left off the list and they put me in place of them, nobody would complain as long as they knew why.

the absence of Leonard Cohen, the only comparable lyricist to Bob Dylan in the history of popular music, is disgusting. Cohen is singularly Canada's greatest poet and songwriter.

There have been some great Canadians, but isn't a stretch to claim people like John Cabot?

From the CBC list.....I can't narrow it down but the great Canadians that resonate with me (methinks there were a few surprising omissions....how about the guy that started Greenpeace):

Romeo Dallaire!!!
Rick Hansen
Foster Hewitt!!
Sir Wilfred Laurier
Mike Myers
Trudeau
David Suzuki!!!
Mordecai Richler
Margaret Atwood
Louis Riel
Lester Pearson!!!
Neil Young!!!
Joni Mitchell
William Lyon MacKenzie King
Sir John A MacDonald
Wayne Gretzky!!
Billy Bishop!!
Jean Beliveau!!
Alexander Graham Bell!!
Sir Isaac Brock
Emily Carr!!
Leonard Cohen!!
Tommy Douglas (I am no socialist but certainly appreciate his contribution to Canadiana)
Terry Fox

We are going to claim Robinson, Michael Moore and Noam Chomsky next....just you wait. We will give you Naismith in return...fair deal? The Hurricane, Nelson Mandella and Fidel Castro are in the Canadian-at-large category.

This list is really something....dumb. Where's Lester Pearson? Why is Neil Young on it? He's awful? Mike Myers funnier than Dan Ackroyd? Not in MY mind, although I think Myers IS funny.

A wrestler? Whatever....

The Hip instead of the Guess Who is just a joke...why not Loverboy instead?

Really, Gordie and Bobby and Gretzky are the only ones I would agree with. And not in the order they came in on that list. I think Alex Bell was a little more important to the world than most of these...

You can have them. I think you can also claim Yaphet Kotto.

Which Mike Myers? The actor or the fictional murderer?
