Wow, we're so bad that even Ranger fans hate us less.
No offense but more or less. I used to hate the Isles but now I can't help but feel sorry for them... although I have a feeling things are going to get more competitive in the near future so there's always hope
I did. I made one on each board. I think 1 or 2 got deleted... No idea why though
Well the soup nazi did just start working again
For me it's flyers by a fairly significant margin at this point.
Devils: We beat them so much since hank came around that I don't really get upset with them much.
Islanders: I just laugh at them at this point. They've been terrible and the fans are so obsessed with us it's just sad. Many isles fans should really be called anti-ranger fans, they like to see the rangers lose more than they like to see the isles win.
Pens: Hate crosby, hate that team. However, they probably come in at the bottom of my list. Maybe it's because they have to put up with the pirates
Flyers: **** philly the place is a ****hole populated way to heavily by dirtbags. The team is a reflection of that. They play dirty, carcillo, pronger are just the start of it. Doesn't help them that I'm a mets fan and that baseball team over there is almost as bad. Rollins saying they were the team to beat after we went so far the previous year still gets to me.
Devils by a mile, followed by Flyers by a mile, followed by Pens - but only because of Sid - followed by Islanders. I actually find the Islanders quite tolerable, having practically grown up in that locker room and knowing Vukota, Flatley, Volek, Healey, LaFontaine, Thomas, Mullen, etc. as a kid, and I would like the Pens if it weren't for Crosby.
1. Penguins: Historically, the most whiny and biggest system moochers, simply is the epitome of everything wrong with the NHL today
2. Devils: Martin Brodeur is the bane of my existence. Also play the trap system that equates to generally boring hockey.
3. Flyers: Recent success and Carcillo jumping Gaborik put them at 3. Otherwise, I respect the organization.
4. Islanders: Going to overtake the Flyers soon for the 3 spot with improving play
Fans:
1. Devils: 3 cups in the last 15 years, but still play the inferiority card and have the big brother complex when it comes to the Rangers. Although I've run into very knowledgeable and respectable fans in my travels, I've also run into more ignorant Devils fans than any other fanbase.
2. Islanders: See the last sentence, in addition to general rowdiness at games and wanting to start fights at the drop of a hat.
3. Penguins: Bunch of bandwagoners, but there is also a sizeable handful of knowledgeable and loyal fans too.
4. Flyers: Obnoxious as hell, but very loyal and knowledgeable.
For me it's the Flyers. The way their team plays is thuggish and their fans are the most obnoxious. Devils/Islanders are more local rivalries but they don't have enough fans to really piss me off and Pittsburgh, who I hate, just doesn't really get there for me as much as the others.
In order, I hate the Penguins the most. I hate the Flyers almost as much. I hate the Devils a lot too. I just laugh at the Islanders. I've been a Rangers fan since 07'-08' so that would probably explain my order of hatred.
It's been a while. Let's see how the mood is right now .
For me, its the Penguins. I'm still bitter about when they knocked us out of the playoffs 3 years ago! Hal Gill is a bum!
Also, I posted these on each of the other teams boards. It should be nice in a week or two coming back and looking at all the data and see where everything points..
So Far.. Islanders - Exclusively hating the Rangers Philly - Exclusively hating the Pens Pens - Exclusively hating Philly Devils - Obviously not very fun over there and they deleted the thread... go figure, the only board to delete the thread Rangers - Spread out pretty easy but mainly Devs.
PENGUINS. I'm tired of that team being the top NHL tanker in order to save the franchise. They're either on the verge of bankruptcy or winning championships thanks to NHL gifts.
I understand that a league needs the smaller market teams to be able to survive but I've never seen any other league cater to smaller markets like the NHL does with the Pens.
Having been a NYR fan since the early 1990's, I haven't had the real chance to hate on the Isles yet, so they're only slightly above Pittsburgh on my hate list.
For me, choosing between the Debbies & the Cryers is like choosing between STD's. I hate them both with equal, fierce passion.
As long as Fatso is playing & Lammy is running things over there, I'll inch NJ at the top for now. 2008 was such a sweet, sweet playoff win over them.
But, as long as the Philly tries to recreate the Broad Street Bullies theme, they'll be behind by only a hair.
As for the Pens, I don't hate them as much as I hate Crosby (who channels a lot of my dislike). Beyond him, I don't think they as a team do much to get under my skin...although it pisses me off when I see our team lose opportunities to beat them like what has been the case over the past 3 seasons.
Lemieux was whiny baby, so is Crosby, and I'm tired of that welfare lottery team.
Agreed on all counts. HATE the Pens and their obnoxious fair weather fans. They almost lost their team, then all of a sudden they get Crosby and Malkin....
I love this thread... but in all seriousness come on out of everyone in the Atlantic division you have to hate the Devils the most. Even though Philly has been getting on my nerves alot, my hatred for the devils has become twice as strong with the ilya kovy situation.
Hate them all but Devils and Penguins are tied for first
Devils because of the team and fanbase
Penguins because of team, fanbase and the manner in which they became a good team added to the fact they were bailed out by the NHL, they dont deserve **** in my opinion. Also they are shoved down our throat constantly by NHL marketing.
Flyers: Carcillo does a lot for that reason. Acting like he's some kind of "Avery light". Probably by some hate the Rangers because of Avery as well.
Devils: Marty obviously (Can't deny he's a good goalie, but he is fat and and jackass)
Pens: Crybaby. Though a better team than us on paper, but let's see how they do without Gonchar on the PP. (Didn't they go trough a rough period last year without him for some weeks?)
Islanders: Rivalry, but they've sucked so much over the past years, that the hate hasn't really been _there_ ... lol
