Expect a different type of game tonight. According to Pierre McGuire, the upper echelon in the NHL head office came down on the refs and are they're instructed to call all obstruction penalties after the lack thereof in Game 1. This most likely would hurt the Flames who played a 1-2-2 system, but knowing Sutter he'll have no problem in altering their style accordingly.

BTW, I find the Flames to play an exciting brand of hockey. Fast, constant hitting while still employing an effective defensive system.

edit. Oh and I'm not usually a Flames fan persay despite the avatar, just hanging on to the bandwagon.

Game 1 was not "hockey".
so what is hockey?

I thought the reffing was very good in game 1. One or two questionable calls but they let the guys play and only called the blatant penalties (Fedetenko nailing Donovan, Stillman and Boyle's elbows to the head, etc)

irc://mate.irc.auzchat.com/HFChat (IRC) or

I have a sneaking suspiscion that NHL Radio is doing the dodgy.

I'm listening from the other side of the world, and I get cut out while singing O Canada, but the full American national anthem...

Followed by Tampa Bay's starting lineups, and just as Peter Maher starts on Calgary, it cuts out again...

Shame...shame...shame

Flames fans, if other teams fans think your team ise boring that is their right. So get over it. You probably find their team boring at times too, that is your right. No need to get into a p*ssing match. Just enjoy winning.

Brutal reffing against both sides. Congrats to the NHL for making this game farcical due to the intructions given to the refs after game 1!

This is a great game! Both teams are really playing very well, the puck is moving a lot, there's a lot of spaces, nice plays ... has nothing to do with game 1. Even before Tampa's goal it was great.

The phantom holding call on the Flames player, the roughing for the bump after the icing then a similar one was let go...
