still plenty of time till we see the flames patented "run the opposition goalie with 5 seconds left of the clock while losing" move

Kind of like Rathje. Didnt want to fight, had no choice, tried to stand up for himself, failed miserably at it.

Gotta give him credit for the effort though.

Nice to see Niemenen break the shutout.

The two fights were started by flames players in response to actions of lightning players. i dont see anything wrong with going after stillman, considering the hit he gave in game 1. what would you do if you were the flames? just ignore the fact that one of your teammates received a dirty hit and implicitly send the message that its no big deal?? the flames are a tough physical TEAM, one that obviously isnt afraid to stick up for one another. if a guy gives a hit like that, he should have to pay the consequences. Ferrence didnt go after an innocent bystander, he went after stillman. hell yeah it was sending a message. if you're gonna hit high and dirty, be prepared to pay up.

Or the Lightning's patented run a guy from behind trying to end his season move.

Meh, it doesn't matter if you lose 1-0 or 100-0, a loss is a loss.

Why do Tampa's third and fourth goals matter?

To build momentum. To get somthing positive to build off of.

You know, for game three? The other hockey games that are still to be played?

It makes a lot more sense to go out and score some goals than to goon some players... They were only down two goals before the sillyness.

No, but apparently you missed the last ten minutes of game one though.

To recap:

Stillman left his feet to run Nilson's head into the boards.

On the same play, Roy crosschecked Niemenen into the boards from behind.

And Fedotenko gave Donovan a nice little punch using the butt end of his stick for more force

Coming from someone who has had his share of 100-0 losses (being a Jacket's fan) I have to disagree. Calgary sees that hard work pays and the Lightning get the message that no matter what the score they have to worry about their opponent.

I like the way these guys work hard and never say die. It's also much nicer when Oliwa isn't on the ice with his custom made stick without a blade. It makes it THAT much easier to butt end other players.

Stillman ran Nilson, left his feet and delivered the elbow to the head in game 1. Roy or Boyle (forgot who) did the same to Nieminen a few seconds later.

I agree there have been many bad calls in this game, but grabbing a players head and throwing him to the ice seems like a pretty fair call for a penalty.

Because you aren't skating Oliwa.

I'm a Nashville fan, I know about the 100-0 losses too

I'm not saying the team should just give up, just about the whole shutout thing
