Two years from now he'll be finishing up his first year at Worcester and in the upcoming camp he'll be given a shot at making the Blues squad.

Next year, Jr's again. Year after that, the AHL. The year after that, 3 years from now, will be his first *real* chance at playing with St.Louis.

Umm... that's 2 years. Not three.

jeez...

next year is one year, spent in Jr's.
The year after that, the AHL, that two years
The following year, year 3, he might be ready for the NHL...

1 + 1 + 1 = 3.

Stich,

what we have here is a failure to communicate. What I meant, and I thought it was clear, was that I don't "expect" Belle to see the w/in the next 3 years. I should have specified that I believe he'll be two years in the AHL, but it's possible that he could compete for a job after one full year in the AHL, but I doubt it. The guy seems like he needs to learn the game at each level, which will be a slow process.

Again, I don't expect him in the NHL for 3 full years.

I have a great idea, which is pretty much that you don't reply to my posts anymore, Stich. Thanks.

EDIT: We can do without this. The tone of this last statement is confrontational. It will stop. On both your parts.

The Blues prefer to develop their defensemen slowly. Pleau will give him as much seasoning as he needs, so he'll probably be in Worchester unless he makes some extraordinary strides in his decision-making. Pleau has said he's physically ready to play in the NHL. If the Blues decide to rebuild next year maybe we'll see Belle up for the first few games and then sent back to Jrs.

Disagree w/ you here. I think giving Belle a taste would do little for his development. Keep him w/ the Jrs. Next year. (I think we would all love to see what he can do in the NHL, as soon as possible, but it is unwise to put him into the game too soon, even if it is only for 5 minutes...)

I personally wouldn't mind seeing Belle get a few games at the start of next year if the franchise is in rebuild mode, but I doubt Belle will be able to impress in camp more than Jackman did in 1999 and Jackman didn't even get a game then. Since Jackman has developed into a stud using this route, Pleau isn't going to do anything different with Belle [even though each prospect should be developed in a way that suites him best].

After seeing what happened with Sejna this season I expect every prospect to be penciled in to play in Worcester for at least a little while.

I was as excited about Sejna as anyone last year, but in hind sight 210 was right about where he should have started the season. I think Pleau will avoid that mistake in the future.
