Goodbye to Jones????? Appreciation Thread??? No Formal Announcement?

Okay....did I miss something here? Was this a slip????? Jones is gone? Did we not have an appreciation thread.Who did we lose him to? See link, quote...too good to be true??? HUH!????

http://lakingsinsider.com/2010/07/27...sky/#more-6699

LOMBARDI: ďI canít say, but thereís kind of one piece that Iím looking at, that I have in the back of my mind. But in terms of our biggest concern, in terms of our ability to fill that hole, I think this was the main hole that had to be filled, because we donít have that in the system. So for me, itís kind of a relief here, to say, `OK, this other thing is over, so letís move on.í It still comes back to the continued emergence of our young players. The framework around them has changed. We lost OíDonnell, Jones, Frolov, but I want to make sure that we try to bring back that framework, knowing that weíre not that far away, in terms of some of our kids being ready. When you had the youngest core in the playoffs, by far, by definition itís going to improve from within. I want to put the framework around them that is similar to last year, and allow them to continue to grow without putting more on their shoulders. I think this was the biggest hole that had to be filled. So like I said, given all weíve been through, to get a guy like this, I think itís pretty significant, because we were very exposed.Ē

If so,,,well heck...SSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEE YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA: handclap:

Dammit. Now you jinxed it. Lombardi's going to re-sign him as the "puck moving" defenseman just because you started this thread.

****.

EDIT: I realized I put quotes around 'puck moving' when there should also be quotes around 'defenseman.' Here: "puck moving 'defenseman.'" That looks better.

Okay...not buying the jinx thing. However, when you say "puck moving" defenseman, do you mean that he moves the puck well to the other team's stick? ie. See Overtime, playoffs, Vancouver

Hence the cluster**** of quotes around 'puck,' 'moving,' and 'defenseman.'

Well, we are lacking a defenseman that can move the puck up the ice. We'll compensate for his defensive short comings. I'll have to talk to my GM and see if he'll take Jones on a league minimum salary--2 beers max after the game.

I'll believe it when he is playing somewhere else officially. I could see them bringing him in if part way through the season if someone gets hurt or something. Too much Philadelphia stink in this front office.

Don't feel bad. Every other team's board has a Jones appreciation thread.

As a Flyers fan, it's kind of hilarious reading this board when it comes to Jones because it's like a carbon-copy of the Flyers board when he was with us.

When we waived him we were like "Hell yeah, our GM fixed his mistake!", but then he was put on re-entry waivers and claimed. You can imagine how pissed off we were. Not that he was claimed, that our GM recalled him.
